7 Of The Best Travel Destinations To Hit In The Fall
There are a lot of reasons as to why fall makes the perfect season for travel. For one, the weather is mild. Not too hot, not too cold. Travel is cheaper and the views are spectacular, especially if you’re going to a place that is known for having stunning foliage. So, not only is fall a great season in general…but one that is perfect for traveling, whether it be with your family or a group of friends. Here are some of the travel destinations you might want to add to your bucket list.
1. Sydney, Australia
Does it get any prettier than this? If you didn’t already know, in Sydney, Australia, jacaranda’s bloom in early November. They turn the streets of Sydney a beautiful purple, making it a sight to die for. It might not be a tropical place with palm trees, but it sure is one of a kind.
2. Mackinac Island, Michigan
Located in Lake Huron, Mackinac Island is known for the fall foliage it serves. And not only is it a historic landmark, but a place where the air is clear and the skies are blue during the fall season. Autumn is when it shines the most. You can either explore by foot or bike, but believe me when I say you’re not going to want to take an uber in a city that has so much to offer.
3. Hogback Mountain, Vermont
The scenic views here at Hogback Mountain are insane! Located near Marlboro, Vermont, Hogback Mountain is a mountain just north of Route 9 with views that will literally blow your mind they’re that beautiful. Coming here during fall is a great choice.
4. Montreal
Montreal is loaded with top restaurants and world-class museums, alongside beautiful cobblestone streets and old-fashioned houses. There’s so much to do and see here in Montreal that you may want to prolong your stay in order to do it all. One of the top destinations, however, would have to be Mount Royal, a small mountain they have located in the heart of the city. It’s like the “Central Park” of Montreal and the views you’ll find will have you wanting to snap a million photos at once.
5. Perthshire, Scotland
It’s time to get more international with travel destinations. Perthshire, Scotland, is a great start. During the fall season, there’s no other place in Scotland more beautiful than here, also known as “Home Of The Big Trees.” The entire area bursts with colors of fall, ranging from golds and various copper shades to reds and oranges.
6. Bruges, Belgium
Fall is the best time to visit Bruges, Belgium, the capital of West Flanders. The medieval city comes alive during the autumn months and there are plenty of popular landmarks to visit, Belfry of Burges being one of the main ones. The Belfry of Burges is a medieval bell tower that formerly housed a treasury.
7. Savannah, Georgia
This charming Southern town will sweep you off your feet. During the summer months, the humidity is high and the crowds of people are huge, but as soon as fall starts to creep up, it makes for a better travel destination. There’s more to Savannah than just the food (although that plays a big role, at least for me). In mid-November, Savannah hosts two fun festivals, the Taste of Savannah and the annual Telfair Art Fair. If you’re more into history, take a tour and if you’re brave enough, one of the tours that drive by haunted houses!
There’s so much you can do in Savannah.
