10 Drinks To Make When You Just Wanna Get Drunk
During the summer all you wanna do is lay back and relax with a drink in your hand. Maybe you’re chilling poolside, or you’re reading in a hammock under a tree with an alcoholic beverage that was easy and fast to make because you’re too lazy to use those cocktail recipes that call for ten different ingredients you’ll only use once. So here are 10 drink recipes for when you just want to get tipsy.
1. Lazy Old Fashioned
An old fashioned is a classic without all the fuss. For this hearty beverage, you can sip in the evening, put white or brown sugar in a glass, add orange bitters, put a few ice cubes in and pour your favorite bourbon or whiskey. You’ll want about 1 teaspoon of sugar, and just a tiny bit of the bitters.
2. Blackberry Gin Cocktail
This pretty little mix has only 3 ingredients (minus the ice), so its cheaper and quicker to make, than some fancy cocktails. In a glass put ice, 1 lemon wedge, 3 ounces of gin and 1 can of blackberry sparkling water. Spindrift is the recommended brand for blackberry sparkling water, unless you can find another that is available to you. Garnishing with blackberries is optional.
3. Cherry Amaretto Limeade
For a fresh, citrus tasting mixed drink that is so refreshing on hot summer days try this cocktail that only contains four ingredients. In a glass pour 2 ounces of amaretto, this will give the drink a little extra sweet, add 1 ounce of cherry juice or cherry pomegranate, 5 ounces of limeade and a cherry for garnish. It’s like a fruity desert but with booze!
4. Rose Wine Slushy
Slushies, ICEEs, or any of those cold, blended, fruity tasting beverages always hits the spot for those really hot summer days. Try a slushy with alcohol to beat the heat this month. For a strawberry rose slushy, use 3 cups of frozen strawberries, 16 ounces of chilled rose wine, 1 cup of ice cubes and 1/4 of triple sec. Put all of that in a blender and blend until it’s smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy! It’s really that easy!
5. Screwdriver
A screwdriver is as easy, and lazy of a drink recipe if there ever was one. It’s super simple and probably a little dangerous with how easy you can make these and drink them. Simply add 2 ounces of your favorite vodka and 5 ounces of orange juice to a tall drinking glass. You may garnish this beverage with a fresh orange slice and mint leaves.
6. Alcoholic Lemonade
Lemonade has long been a summertime favorite, for its cool refreshing citrus taste, best served over ice. While there are dozens of variations and recipes for alcoholic lemonade that you could use, we did our best to include the easiest recipes possible, to minimize the fuss for when you just want to get drunk.
Try using the frozen lemonade concentrate, regular or raspberry flavored and prepare as instructed. Or if you’re feeling extra lazy, there is always a gallon of premade lemonade (or limeade, go crazy) in the refrigerator aisle at the grocery store. Put the contents into a pitcher, add 12 ounces of vodka, squeeze a fresh lime/lemon in it, then pour and serve over ice. Consider adding 7UP or Sprite for some fizzy action.
Lemonade is incredibly versatile and there are so many flavor options, fruits that can be added, and garnishes to use. Try making your own lemonade with water, fresh lemons, sugar and vodka if you don’t want to use the premade store kind. Experiment with what you think tastes the best!
7. Moscow Mule
This drink has been around for quite some time and often served in copper glasses. You can still make this drink without those. In a pitcher, use 4 cups (about 3 cans) of ginger beer (chilled), 2/3 cups lime juice, 1-1/4 cups vodka and ice cubes. Pour into glasses and serve with lime slices if so desired.
8. Jack And Coke
You can never go wrong with a Jack and Coke. It’s so simple, so easy, and the perfect alcoholic drink for when you’re just too lazy to care and you want to savor the flavor. In a tall glass, add ice, pour 2 ounces of Jack Daniel’s No. 7 and add 8 ounces of Coke or Coca-Cola. Getting the right balance is important, and it is often made with an equal balance of both, if that’s what you prefer.
Try the slushy version of a Jack and Coke this summer! It’s super easy and fun! Make ice cubes using Coca-Cola, by pouring the soda into an ice cube tray and letting them freeze. When they’re frozen, place them in a blender with extra ice if you want a thick, slushy consistency. Add the whiskey to the blender (however much you think you want, just go for it), and blend. Pour your slushy into a glass and enjoy. For an extra flavor, kick use cherry Coke to make the cubes and garnish with maraschino cherries.
9. Watermelon Margaritas
This is another one of those 3-ingredient recipes so it’s super simple and easy, but still very tasty! Cut up a watermelon, and toss it in the blender until it’s full (one small watermelon yields 3-5 cups juice). Squeeze some lime juice (fresh or from the bottle it really doesn’t matter) into the blended watermelon, then add a shot..or more if you’re feeling it, of tequila. Instead of blending this time you’ll want to shake all the contents real good, then serve in a glass.
If you’re feeling extra, add sea salt and lime garnish to the rim of your glasses.
10. Raspberry Sorbet Bellini
What’s better than ice-cream on a hot summer day? Ice-cream with booze! You’ll need 1 pint of raspberry sorbet, taking 1-2 scoops and putting them in a champagne glass. Pour pink Moscato, Prosecco or Champagne (chilled) over the sorbet, and top 2-3 fresh raspberries. This a yummy, sweet treat that’ll take the edge off the heat!
