One thing to remember is to always look for colours that suit your skin tone, because as much as vibrant colours are fun, there’s a lot of tones that don’t go together, and you don’t want to be the person that makes that mistake. 1. Pastel eyeliner
Bringing a pop of color in with your eyeliner is a great way to step up your beauty game without committing to a full eyeshadow look, especially when your time in the morning is limited, or you want to ease into this whole wearing color trend altogether. This makeup look is easy to do, especially when all you need is your favourite colour of eyeliner and some of your best black mascara.
2. Glitter & gloss
No matter if it’s glitter or gloss, having fun with texture and color is the best when you want to step out of your comfort zone with out going too overboard with harsh lines. Plus, it’s a great look for the summer to brighten up your look. Use cream shadows and soft, sheer glittery pigment and apply liberally over your lids (and maybe even on your highlight spots to give a cute matching look).
3. Clumpy lashes
We know what you’re thinking, because this look is literally something you’ve been trying to avoid your whole life. But if done correctly, you can totally pull it off. This lash look simply involves putting on mascara and pinching lashes together with your fingers to create that clumpier look with more edge than your normal everyday mascara. Apply a sheer eyeshadow or highlight to give your lids just enough color to create a contrast, and you’re set.
4. Bold lips
Bold, bright lips are a perfect way to add a chic pop of color to your makeup look, and are perfect for summer because you don’t need any extra color when wearing this trend. If you want to try this bright lipstick trend but you’re a little nervous about pulling it off, you don’t have to choose red — you can pick any color you want. Change it up with berry tones or a hot pink if you’re unsure about what red is best for your skin tone (don’t worry, it is pretty hard to tell).
5. Smokey eye
A smoky, sultry eye that looks lived in is perfect for summer because you don’t have to worry about heat messing it up. Smoky eyes aren’t as difficult to create as you think, when you have the right products to make sure they stay in place. Start by applying an eyeshadow base (in clear or a tinted color) on the lid to ensure everything you apply after will stay put. Second, choose your shadow palette and blend with a crease/contour brush across the lid until it’s fully covered in color. Then add your typical eyeliner and mascara, and you have a look that you can pull off even when you’re hungover. Which is pretty miraculous.
