If you are actually from New Jersey, you would know that there are a ton of beaches to be explored. Each one of them has their own specialty that makes them worth visiting. Here are the top 5 beaches of the Jersey Shore ranked.
5. Manasquan
Manasquan, while quite small, makes a lasting impact on those who visit it. If you are looking for a low key beach, this is the one to go to. Taking a stroll down the boardwalk, you’ll find nothing but beach houses and the open sand. If you make it all the way to the end, you’ll find a long jetty that overlooks the ocean and is directly across from Point Pleasent.
4. Long Branch
Long Branch beach is one of the many touristy beaches of the Jersey Shore that sits directly across from Pier Village. When you finish getting your morning relaxation fix, you can head over to the boardwalk where you’ll be able to enjoy some authentic gelato and do a little shopping. Although Pier Village can be pricey, it adds a quaint experience to this beach visit.
3. Belmar
Belmar is one of the beaches of the Jersey Shore that has just enough to give you everything you really need for a beach day. A nice long beach, acquired with multiple playgrounds as you walk up and down the stone boardwalk. Just watch out for all the joggers and bicyclist, this is a popular workout spot.
Feeling hungry? Directly across from the boardwalk is multiple food establishments that can fulfill your hunger. We’re talking the basics: pizza, fries and ice cream. Plus so much more. That’s not all. If you’re looking for some nightlife fun, Belmar is the home of D’jais Oceanview Bar and Cafe where there is always something going on on a Saturday night.
2. Seaside Heights
I know I mentioned that beaches of the Jersey Shores are more than just a television show, but I mainly mean the people that are portrayed. This beach itself, the location of the MTV’s OG Jersey Shore, is a place you should visit at least once in your life. It has a humongous boardwalk, including bars, restaurants, games, and rides. There is just so much to do that you could spend the whole day there. Enjoy the beach during the day, since unfortunately that is the only time it is kept open, and enjoy the many options during the night.
Since it’s rebuilt after Hurricane Sandy in 2012, many rides were added to the large boardwalk. Including a Ferris wheel and drop tower that can be seen once you cross over the bridge onto the small island. An experience that is a must is barhopping. With the many choices of bars and clubs, it’s impossible not to do it.
1. Point Pleasent
This beach is a great beach on the list of beaches of the Jersey Shore for many reasons. It has everything all the previous beaches that were mentioned have, all in one location. It includes a long beach, jetty, clubs, bars, games, and rides. It is not as big as Seaside so you won’t feel overwhelmed with a huge crowd. The rides aren’t as extravagant as Seaside, but you can have definitely some fun with them.
Multiple arcades with endless amounts of games and different tasty food establishments too. The nightlife gives you the option of a few bars and the beach remains open for you to wander around and enjoy the sound of the waves crashing against the shore.
