The 8 Types Of Boys You’ll Meet At CSUN

If you're a student at CSUN then chances are that you've probably met at least some of these types of guys around campus.

Let’s face it. College is as much about getting an education as it is about balancing a social life. After all, college admissions officers are always looking for the well-rounded students to fit into their university student body. This means that dating becomes a relatively routine activity among college students. For us Matador women, CSUN is a relatively small campus with a wide variety of people. Among such a diverse group of people, you are sure to find a certain set of guys. Some which you should date; others which you should probably avoid. Here is a comprehensive guide to the 8 types of boys you’ll meet at CSUN.

1. The Athlete

CSUN has a strong sports program, so there is a good chance you’ll run into quite a number of athletic guys on campus. From soccer to cross country to basketball, there is no shortage of sporting events where you can run into one of these types of guys. All of a sudden, sporting events became ten times more interesting.

2. The Musician

You can find him hanging out under one of CSUN’s countless trees, strumming away at his guitar. You’ll probably also catch him passing out flyers to a show or getting a group of his bandmates together for rehearsal. It’s quite possible you’ll meet the next big musician on this campus considering they are probably studying at CSUN’s prestigious music program, so don’t sleep on this one!

3. The Frat Boy

CSUN has a wide variety of Greek fraternities and sororities, so running into a frat boy is pretty much a guarantee. You’ll find him hanging out with his fraternity brothers at the quad where he will most likely be recruiting for his fraternity. While this does show the qualities of a leader, be wary of this one. He can party hard. Not to harp on a cliche, but they are cliches for a reason.

4. The Scholar

You can find him at the library or the Freudian sip, enjoying a novel or partaking in a lively debate about foreign policy, literature, science, or philosophy. He will dazzle you with his knowledge on various topics and will always have a good book to recommend. However, watch out for any potential mansplainer! I’m all for an intelligent man, just not one that will belittle my own intelligence.

5. The Gym Buff

Not to be confused with the Athlete, the gym buff could be found at, you’ve guessed it, the gym! Some of his telling features include a gym bag, a water bottle he’ll probably constantly be drinking out of, and a slight hint of body odor. None of these qualities should reflect on the type of person he is though. Chances are he is pretty happy considering exercise releases endorphins!

6. The Class Cutie

Pick a class. He is probably sitting right there in front of you. You probably spend half the class staring at the back of his head, Cady Heron- style. Maybe he will ask you for the date next time you see him? Only time will tell.
