10 Best Breweries Around Boston
If you like drinking beer then this article is for you. If not then do you like hanging out with babies, puppies, and board games? Yes? Then this article is also for you. If not then why did you click on this article in the first place?? Yeesh. Here are the 10 best breweries around Boston.
Dorchester Brewing Company
I think in terms of time spent at a brewery this one comes in first place. Dorchester Brewing Company (DBco for the cool kids) not only makes amazing beer but is constantly throwing awesome events. From donut pop up shops to roasting whole pigs there is always something new and different going on. You can even catch Keytar bear rocking out there from time to time and for a venue in Boston, that means you’ve made it.
Lamplighter
Similar to DBco, Lamplighter also hosts awesome events. I went to Lamp Fest 2017 and ate so much cotton candy I had a sugar rush for a week. My coworkers were envious of my energy and it was amazing. They just doubled the size of their space so there’s so much room for activities!
Harpoon
Oh, Harpoon. What a classic. You know, I’ve never actually been to their beer hall. I’ve only ever been to the festivals that they throw throughout the year. Harpoonfest is the next one! Get a pretzel with hot cheese sauce and make sure to sign up for a free brewery tour. Trust me. There are some great breweries around Boston!
Aeronaut
Don’t judge a book by its cover. I don’t think that applies to beer, right? Aeronaut’s beautiful artwork on their cans is an accurate representation of their quality of beer. Admittedly I always buy their beer for the beautiful designs, and because flirting with the guy selling them at the local farmer’s market is one of my favorite summertime activities. You’ve got check out some of these breweries around Boston this summer.
Night Shift
I love Night Shift. Their beer is just so amazingly delicious. Definitely check this place out. The workers pouring the beer are super knowledgeable too so take advantage of that and ask them about what you’re drinking.
Mystic
Even though Chelsea is not the most glamorous place to hang out, this brewery is like a shining beacon in a land of run-down buildings and crime. Plus maybe if we start hanging out at this brewery Chelsea will become gentrified and I can find a cheap apartment up there. Do this for me guys.
Somerville Brewing Company (a.k.a. Slumbrew)
This brewery is so cozy and has so much charm I just love it. My favorite time to go is Sunday nights for the Liquid Courage Comedy Club. It’s run by a husband-wife duo and if that’s not #relationshipgoals then I don’t know what is.
Hopsters
Not your traditional brewery, you can make your own beer! You even get to drink beer while you’re making beer! Amazing. And since they do most of the heavy lifting for you it won’t be like that time you tried to make beer by yourself in your kitchen and burnt your hands and spilled hot sticky mash everywhere. Just me? Okay.
Treehouse
I know this is way outside of Boston but this beer is so amazing people wait in a line all morning just to get some. I myself have never done such a thing. Personally, I wait for my friends to drive out there, stand in line, and bring some back so that I can drink it all.
Cape Cod Beer
So this one is also a bit of a drive outside of Boston but well worth it. They once got me to run a 5k by bribing me with a free beer afterward. That’s how good it is. If you’re also easily bribed by beer the next “Race to the Pint” is coming up in May!
