Why I Chose To Go To Temple University

Temple University has many reasons why it's the best school in the United States. Here is why I chose to go to Temple University.

Selecting a college is an insanely stressful experience.  There is so much to consider: academics, professors, and campus life to name a few.  I was able to check all of those boxes off of my Temple University checklist, but here are a few more reasons that I decided to go to Temple University.

Temple University is located in a huge city

Philadelphia is a vibrant, exciting city.  Whether you have lived here your whole life or it is your first time in the city, there is always something fun and exciting to do in the city.  After being at Temple for an entire semester, some of my favorite adventures have taken place when I need to see something other than the inside of the TECH Center.  Whether it be a change of scenery studying outside in Rittenhouse park or ice skating on a Tuesday night at Penn’s Landing the night before an exam, there is always an adventure awaiting.

Temple has great school colors

Coming from a high school where one of my school colors was orange, cherry and white is a big step up.  The colors look good on virtually anyone, unlike the bright orange of my past.  Cherry and white are very easy to wear and was guaranteed to match my entire wardrobe.

The University has an incredible History

Applying to Temple University as a history major, I wanted a university with historic roots.  Temple University actually started as a night school for working class citizens of North Philadelphia.  Four years later, in 1888, founder Russell Conwell received a charter for Temple College.  Since then, the University has spread from several dozen students to almost 40,000!

The campus is full of great food

Temple University is unique in that it has food trucks, restaurants, and university sponsored dining options.  It is impossible to be sick of the food as there is always something new to try.  Being a complete foodie, I needed to find a campus that had a variety of different food options that I could try.  Whether it be a slice of pizza from Maxi’s or a crepe from the Creperie, it is hard to run out of food to enjoy.

Wawa

While this might seem strange to anyone not living in the Northeast, Wawa was most definitely the deciding factor in my college decision.  While there is technically no Wawa on campus, being in a city with 12 different Wawa’s all serving comforting food I know and love was the ultimate deciding factor.  Thankfully, there is no Sheetz for almost 40 miles.
