10 Things You Can Relate To If You Live In Campion Hall
Just like every college campus, each dorm is known for its own quirks and foibles. Here, at Loyola University Chicago, Campion Hall is the dorm that houses the Interdisciplinary Honors Program — but don’t assume that these smarties don’t have their own quirks to deal with in Campion Hall. Here are just a few things you can relate to if you live in Campion Hall.
1. Your dorm is super tiny.
You already knew that living in a dorm room wouldn’t be like having your own room at home, but little did you know a dorm could be this small.
2. There’s a mysterious smell in your room.
And because you aren’t allowed to have candles or incense sticks in your room, the smell continues to persist. No need to fear! Get yourself some essential oils and an aromatherapy diffuser to make your dorm feel more like home . . . or maybe just less gross.
3. Your air conditioner is loud and makes a creepy sound.
Some people really enjoy the sound of a fan while going to sleep — how about an air conditioner that reboots itself every 30 minutes?
4. You never want to get your packages from the mail room.
With Campion being the dorm furthest away from the mail room, it can be quite the trek and take great deal of effort to actually pick up your packages.
5. The shower situation is . . . interesting.
Whether your shower heads are super short for your stature or your shower handle rotates more than 360 degrees, you can definitely attest to an interesting shower experience in your dorm.
6. Someone is almost always playing the piano in the lounge.
Who knew that there were so many musically-talented people in the Honors Program?
7. You live across the street from amazing food places.
Sure, San Francisco Hall may be environmentally friendly and have spacious dorm rooms, but we live right across the street from Blaze, Potbelly, Chipotle, and Bop n’ Grill.
8. You’ll always have a friend whom you can ask questions about the work of literature that you’re reading.
Confused on how to read the Book of Genesis without looking at it from a religious perspective? If your roomie can’t help you, your friend right across the hall can definitely help you out.
9. You know that studying in groups is the best way to study.
It can be so tempting to run off by yourself and rely on your own understanding of the readings for the Honors Program, but teamwork makes the dreamwork in this situation. Don’t be afraid to grab a group of friends and talk about “menis” and “aristea”!
10. You love living in Campion.
Even though it is smaller and older than the rest of the dorms on campus, it’s secluded nature creates a very unique and awesome environment to live in. Not to mention that you grow very close with everyone who lives in this dorm.
