What Movie To Watch Tonight Based On Where You Live
So it’s probably a Sunday afternoon and you’re super bored. Maybe you finished your assignments for tomorrows class or maybe, and most probably, you have yet to do that assignment but screw it procrastination is life. You opened up Netflix or an illegal online streaming site, shh don’t worry we all do it, and you’ve been scrolling for a while and you can’t seem to be able to choose anything to watch. Well you’re in luck because I have gone through what you are going through except that I’m a loser with no life and decided to make this article to help you. Here is a list of a TV show and movie to watch based on your state.
1. FLORIDA
We’re starting out with Florida because I’m biased and this is where I’ve lived almost my whole life. Besides the hot weather, the humidity, the lack of seasons and the endless “Florida man” hilarious new headlines, Florida is a great places to live. Â So, if you’re from Florida this is what you should be watching:
MOVIE: Moonlight (because obviously you gotta represent and just because it’s a beautiful movie).
TV SHOW (COMEDY): Jane the Virgin
2. ALABAMA
Apparently weather is a big part of defining states. Also, it looks like people in Alabama go through a lot. You guys okay? Well if you aren’t maybe you should watch a movie or a TV show and wow, lookie here I can help you with that (see how I dropped that in there).
MOVIE: A Single Man
TV SHOW: Malcolm in the Middle
3. ALASKA
I don’t know Alaska seems pretty… chill… Yeah okay I’ll show myself out.
MOVIE: The Emperor’s New Grove (if you have yet to see this, trust me… watch it)!
TV SHOW: Nikita
4. ARIZONA
Oh wow, look another weather meme seems to have made it’s way into this article. Wonder what genius did that.
MOVIE: Frank (weird-ish movies but super good).
TV SHOW: Friday Night Lights
5. ARKANSAS
Classy is what I had to be in order to not post another weather meme.
MOVIE: Amelie (really cute movie)!
TV SHOW: Shameless (you won’t want to stop watching so let the binge begin).
6. CALIFORNIA
No, yeah we have the same thing in Florida.
MOVIE: Begin Again (awesome cast and music).
TV SHOW:Â Black Mirror (if you seriously haven’t watched at least one episode of this show, you’re missing out).
7. COLORADO
Remember when I was going to be classy and stop with the weather memes…yeah well…
MOVIE: Heathers (a classic with some amazing one liners you will want to incorporate into your daily life).
TV SHOW: One Tree Hill (I binged watched all of it. The characters are awesome and it’s nice seeing them at different stages of their lives. You’ll enjoy it if you love CW shows).
8. CONNECTICUT
I don’t know whether to laugh or cry at this meme, but I’m sorry Connecticut (written to you from Miami Beach where its nice and warm right now).
MOVIE: Phoenix
TV SHOW: Revolution (short lived show that deserved more air time, but the first season is really good and the premise is awesome).
9. DELAWARE
So, bipolar weather is just a thing everywhere apparently?!
MOVIE: Good Burger
TV SHOW: Mad Men (one of my good friends has a huge crush on Jon Hamm and you should all see why).
10. GEORGIA
From my research of Georgia I’ve come to two realizations:
- To outsiders Georgia= Atlanta
- The weather is even more bipolar than Miami weather and that’s saying a lot.
Also, I will avoid The Walking Dead because that’s just too easy and if I put it down, am I really trying to help you?
MOVIE: The Place Beyond the Pines
TV SHOW: Master of None
11. HAWAII
Not gonna put Lilo and Stitch, but consider it an honorable mention because that movie is the best.
MOVIE: The Heartbreak Kid
TV SHOW: The Twilight Zone
12. IDAHO
(Buys plane ticket to Idaho).
MOVIE: The Iron Giant
TV SHOW: Penny Dreadful
13. ILLINOIS
I’m excited to do Illinois seeing as I’ll be moving there for college, whoop whoop!
MOVIE: Only Lovers Left Alive (this is a brilliant, not cliche and overworked vampire movie. I know it’s only available on Netflix as a DVD but I’m sure you’ll figure something out wink wink).
TV SHOW: Starkids on Youtube. (okay, this isn’t on Netflix but this theater group makes a hilarious parody type show  with amazing music. You may know them from “A Very Potter Musical” and if you don’t you need to know about them. Search them up and watch any play. Also check out Tin Can Brother’s musical “Spies are Forever.” Both of their production’s are all online.
14. INDIANA
I wanted to post a weather meme, but it would just be another one about bipolar weather and I don’t want to do that to you guys again.
MOVIE: Midnight in Paris (for those who love to travel back in time and meet infamous people throughout history).
TV SHOW: House of Cards
15. IOWA
Not gonna lie if I saw this in Iowa I would start fan-girling.
MOVIE:Â The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (because Wes Anderson rocks).Â
TV SHOW: Sons of Anarchy
16.KANSAS
Don’t worry Kansas, turn signals in Miami are barely existent.
MOVIE: An Extremely Goofy Movie (I make it a habit to watch this movie with my mom often. It’s just really good and with a cute, sweet message. Also it’s the Goofy movie so C’mon)!
TV SHOW: Supernatural (Lawrence, Kansas 22 years ago).
17. KENTUCKY
In all honesty though, I love KFC.
MOVIE: Spotlight (A really well done movie about journalism with an amazing cast).
TV SHOW: Peaky Blinders
18. LOUSIANA
I’m not saying that this is a weather meme but like, it is and I couldn’t help myself.
MOVIE: Lord of the Rings (all three of them. Yes, they’re long but they’re worth it.)
TV SHOW: Frasier
19.MAINE
It’s never too cold for those fashionable shorts. Move aside Bella Hadid.
MOVIE: 13 going on 30 (young Mark Ruffalo, yes please)!
TV SHOW: Jessica Jones
20. MARYLAND
Game of Thrones weather meme with Jon Snow, I think I really nailed it this time.
MOVIE: Tangerine (I still can’t believe this whole movie was shot on an iPhone).
TV SHOW: The Office (laughter, tears, second hand embarrassment? Yep, that’s The Office).

MOVIE: Only Lovers Left Alive (a refreshing view on vampires with amazing actors and it’s just a really good movie. It’s only on Netflix DVD).
TV SHOW: Game of Thrones (if you’re not already watching this you totally should be).
22. MICHIGAN

27. NEBRASKA
He looks like he had an awesome Friday night. He probably just finished a movie mentioned in this article.

TV SHOW: 30 Rock (We all need more Tina Fey in our lives).
