Tips To Do Your Makeup for Graduation

mm

As you get closer to the end of high school, it’s only natural for you to dream about Graduation Day and for the senioritis to set in. After 10 long months of pushing through senior year, Gradation Day is a well-deserved time to celebrate YOU! Don’t let the fear of not looking your best stand in the way of your excitement. Here are 5  makeup for graduation tips to make sure you look gorgeous!

1.  Don’t Overdo It!

Don’t get me wrong. I’m a huge fan of bold brows, chiseled cheekbones, and bright lips. But I recommend keeping things on the natural side for an event like graduation. Feel free to go full-faced, but try and keep things neutral and not too flashy.

2. Get Glowing

Just because you’re keeping things neutral doesn’t mean you can’t have fun! Highlighting is a major trend and is perfect for a spring graduation. If you are a paler girl, try a pink-toned highlight to look fresh and dewy. Check out Laura Geller’s Baked Illuminator in Charming Pink. As for my darker girls, try a gold-toned highlight for a sun kissed glow like Laura Geller’s Baked Illuminator in Gilded Honey.

3.   Skip the Smokey Eye!

Smokey eyes are great for special occasions, but particularly night time events. Since graduations are most often afternoon to early evening, skip out on the heavy shadows and opt for light and sparkly lids or a killer cat eye! Champagnes, taupes, and golds are the perfect day-time spring colors for your eye shadow. And if you’re still wanting some drama, throw on a pair of fluttery fake lashes and some nude liner in your waterline to make your eyes really pop!

4.       Waterproof All the Way!

Admit it. You will most likely cry during graduation. It is such an emotional day that finishes up a huge chapter in your life, so don’t be ashamed if you shed a few tears! Be prepared for the water works by choosing a strong face primer , a good setting spray, and a few coats of your favorite water-proof mascara.

5. Blend, Blend, Blend!

One of the major flaws that we ladies commit when applying makeup is forgetting to properly blend! Even the most gorgeous makeup looks can look tacky if you forget to blend everything well. NEVER, I repeat, NEVER forget to carry your foundation down your neck. The best way to ruin graduation photos is to have a distinct foundation line!
