9 Date Night Ideas To Do Around NKU
Are you so busy with classes that you don’t have time to brainstorm places to take your loved one on a date? Well, you clicked the right article! Keep reading for nine date night ideas to do around NKU.
1. Newport on the Levee.
Ah, Newport. From Dicks’ Last Resort to bowling to shopping, this is quite an entertainment center. This is a great place for a day or night out, and the best part- LOTS of Pokemon Stops & Gyms. Newport is always full of activities & adventures.
2. The Aquarium.
Located 10 minutes from campus, this is a great date for rainy, snowy, or too hot to handle days. You can pet sharks & visit Crush, Dory, Nemo, and their friends. To top it off- if you dare, walk across the shark tank. If you love Finding Nemo or exhilarating experiences- this is the place to go.
3. The Zoo.
The Cincinnati Zoo has lots to offer- a new hippo exhibit, an actual bobcat (not the mascot at University of Cincinnati & no Norse sightings :/ ), a train to take you around the zoo & my personal favorite would be the Festival of Lights. Animals, lights, and a beautiful girl with you. What else could you ask for?
4. Sporting Event(s).
If you and your girlfriend are looking for a change from movie nights & chipotle dates, Cincinnati has many sports teams to offer. Even if you’re not a fan of sports, the atmosphere here is crazy. So many teams and sports to choose & many walk up tickets or cheap tickets can be found on the internet. FC Cincinnati, Reds, & the Bengals are more common around here.
5. Holiday Auto Theater.
This is a bit of a hike from NKU, but totally worth it. Located in Hamilton, OH is Holiday Auto Theater. To change up netflix and redbox nights, 10/10 recommend. Old fashion drive in theater, two newer movies in one night, cuddling under the stars, spending time with eachother. What else could one ask for?
6. Take a Hike!
If you and your loved one are outdoorsy, nature lovers or adventurous, look no further.
7. Fountain Square.
Through the summer months you can find American Roots music on Tuesdays, Reggae on Wednesdays, Salsa on Thursday and many other free events throughout the year. Come for the music, stay for the fun and people watching. There’s music in the warmer months, and in the colder months you can take a spin on the ice skating rink. Fountain Square is a great place to hangout any time, anytime of the year.

8. The Fear Fest- Halloween Haunt.
Located in Mason, OH is Kings Island- a well known amusement park. In the fall every year they host Halloween Haunt. The name explains it all- kid friendly to gory and night terror houses, clowns, chainsaws and more, it will scare the bejesus out of you. Go if you dare.
9. Perfect North Slopes.
This is a winter weather date. A variety of winter activities are available at Perfect North including skiing, snowboarding and tubing. Yes, a bit of a drive to Lawrenceburg, IN but hey, who doesn’t love snowball fights and falling on their faces with their best friend?
