Eclectic can be defined as deriving ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources. When it comes to room decor, I have recently had my eye on the popular eclectic aesthetic that is all over Pinterest, Instagram, and TikTok. This room style incorporates a lot of bright colors that bounce well off of each other. It also includes a mixture of textures, pieces from different time periods, styles, and trends, to create an intensely beautiful space. Common colors I’ve seen when recreating this style are deep blues, emerald green, baby pink, and white and black. What I love most about the eclectic room aesthetic is how in one spot you can have a thrifted, vintage rug then throw in a more recent trend like a neon sign. This style is extremely versatile, so don’t hold back when looking for some unique pieces to add to your bedroom.
Another one of our popular, Pinterest worthy room aesthetic ideas is the Soft Neutral Glam look. Think of Urban Outfitters home decor section, mixed with some vintage pieces to recreate the look. This style includes the use of many home decor trends seen right now, such as bubble and female body figure candles, mushroom lamps, shell lamps, and framed art prints. Neutral bedrooms are always super aesthetically pleasing and one of the easiest ideas to shop for since you aren’t shopping for specific bright colors, but neutrals that will go with anything. Soft Neutral Glam rooms are the perfect amount of feminine, without using classic “girly” colors like bright pink.
The Bohemian room is pretty self explanatory and well known, creating a very personalized and intimate space. Bohemian rooms are just the right amount of relaxed and layed back, while still looking clean and put together. They include a lot of earthy tones, then add some bright white accents to complete the look. If you choose this room aesthetic as your own, don’t be shy when adding a lot of greenery to your space. Plants have several health benefits, while adding fresh energy to a space and symbolize regrowth. If you’re like me and love plants but tend to kill them (not intentionally), opt for getting some realistic looking fake plants that won’t require as much attention. Finish off your space by adding some vines and neutral elements, and you will have the most dreamy, bohemian styled bedroom.
I have always found all white, monochromatic rooms to be very visually pleasing and timeless in any given space. All white rooms give off a refreshing, clean use of space and are easy to shop for. If you choose this room style, just remember it does require you to be careful as it can get stained very easily. You may want to stay away from bringing food or drinks into your space, as well as getting any makeup on your furniture. Be sure to add bright lighting for a high-energy space.
When I think of Art Deco as one of my favorite room aesthetic ideas I immediately think of Blair Waldorf’s iconic bedroom in her Upper East Side apartment in Gossip Girl. The art deco style includes a lot of soft touches combined with some intense, deeper colors. Popular color choices for this room style include deep purple, gray, and silver to achieve this glamorous look. If you love a little sparkle, don’t hold back from adding some sequin pillows. Heavy blankets, fluffy rugs, stylish headboards, and wallpaper instead of paint are all popular elements used when designing an art deco inspired bedroom.
Vintage style rooms are another well known choice for our room aesthetic ideas that is truly timeless for any room in your house. When shopping for a vintage space, I recommend checking consignment stores, thrift stores, and local antique shops to find pieces that give off a vintage feel. Start by choosing your color scheme, then match your antique finds to that color. I recommend also shopping for unique art pieces paired with dramatic, vintage inspired frames to get the full effect!
If you have yet to hear the term Cottagecore, it can be described as a cozy and charming, romanticized style space that incorporates elements of nature. Lots of cottagecore room aesthetic ideas take elements from the Victorian period to create a whimsical, care free energy throughout your bedroom. This style is perfect for any of the old souls out there who love to romanticized their lives!
You don’t need to live by the beach to have a beach-inspired space to call your own! Beachy rooms are perfect if you love the color blue mixed with neutral elements and find yourself dreaming of the ocean. If the beach themed bedroom is your top favorite from these room aesthetic ideas, be sure to only use light colors to create a fresh space. Incorporate a lot of linen and beach elements, such as shells, seaglass, or any earthy elements.
