5 Work Appropriate Outfits That Are Stylish

Waking up for your nine-to-five job can be dreadful, and spending time just staring at your closet trying to figure out what to wear in the morning can add to the pain. It can be pretty difficult to find work attire that is professional, yet stylish at the same time. We all want to be comfortable for the hours of sitting down at a desk, but we also want something that we feel cute in when we see coworkers and go out for lunch. Keep reading for five work-appropriate outfits that are stylish, and do not worry, they will definitely be HR-approved.

1. A Leather Blazer

Leather blazers have been super on trend recently. They have the ability to dress up almost every outfit, and not to mention, they are very comfortable.

You can opt for a one hundred percent genuine leather blazer, which is a little bit more expensive. But hey, you are paying for the quality! There are also a ton of faux leather blazers available on the market if that is more your style. So many different brands are coming out with their own, so they are pretty easy to find. Here is a little tip for you and your wallet as well; A lot of thrift stores carry leather blazers (100% genuine and faux!) If you ever see one, snatch it up for sure!

Besides the thrift stores, you can find leather blazers at Macy’s, Nordstrom, Princess Polly, ASOS, and a lot of other stores. Be sure to check them out online!

You can pair the leather blazer with pretty much anything. I think it looks amazing with a high-waisted skirt like in the photo below. Add a cute bag and you are set!

2. The All Black Fit

The all-black look is a classic, I do not think it will ever go out of style! It is perfect for almost all occasions; going out, work, lounging, etc. Most of us already own staple black pieces in our closets, so this look will be pretty easy to throw together in the morning.

Start your work attire with some black pants, either slacks or jeans, whichever you prefer. Then go for a plain black top, with a black blazer on top. Finish it off with some black heels! If you are feeling a little bit extra, break out the black sunglasses and jewelry. This look is so simple, but it looks like you spent so much of your time on it!

When I do an all-black look, I like to find a way to throw in a small pop of color. There are so many different ways to do this. You can incorporate it with your work attire by adding some colored jewelry, a belt, or a purse. My personal favorite is to throw on a classic red lip or some bright nail polish.

3. A Patterned Midi Skirt

Some days we just do not want to put on pants. If you are anything like me, those days may happen a lot. Midi skirts are perfect for those days because they are super comfortable and easy to just throw on. Plus, they are extremely flattering on every body type! Most midi skirts fall somewhere between your knee and ankle, so they are the appropriate length for work.

Do not get me wrong, I think midi skirts look absolutely amazing in solid colors. I own a few different colors myself! But a patterned midi skirt will just take your work attire to the next level. Recently, I have been obsessed with animal print midi skirts. You can find cheetah print at almost every store nowadays. Pair a patterned midi skirt with a plain black turtleneck and some boots and you have got yourself some perfect work attire. Do not forget to add those accessories!

4. A Patterned Blazer

Blazers are such a classic work attire piece, so they are a staple to have in your closet. They are easy to throw on and will elevate any work attire into looking a lot more professional. I love patterned blazers for adding that nice pop of color as well.

You can find so many different patterns. Plaid, floral, gingham, and striped are just a few of the many options. You can layer a blazer on top of pretty much anything, and I think they look super cute with a turtleneck (any color that compliments the blazer will do!) and some plain bottoms.

You can find blazers of all different materials in order to work for every season. Opt for a thinner and unlined blazer for the spring and summertime, and a thick wool blazer in the winter and fall! Check out H&M, Express, Zara, Nasty Gal, and ASOS for some super cute options.

5. The Classic Jumpsuit

I absolutely love jumpsuits. They look so chic but are so easy to just throw on. The best part about jumpsuits is that you do not have to worry about finding multiple pieces to construct the work attire look. You can spend the extra few minutes you would normally spend picking out clothes, sleeping in instead. All you need to do is slip on the jumpsuit and add a few accessories, then you are ready to take on the day!

These are perfect to have for those mornings when you sleep through your alarm and are running late. I always run to my jumpsuits and rompers when this happens to me!

To take your work attire to the next level, add some pointed-toe flats to stay fashionable and comfortable at work. Jumpsuits are available at so many different stores. My personal favorite places to shop for them are at Lulus, Urban Outfitters, ASOS, and Forever 21.
