One of the most important things to do during your first week at SJU is to put yourself out there and meet new people. Break out of your shell and start talking to people in your classes. You never know who you might meet or what connections you’ll make. College is all about meeting new people and staying connected!
Try to get involved ASAP. College is more than just studying all the time! Try a club you might be interested in or if you’re an athlete, try out for the intramural teams! Don’t be scared to try new things and experiment. These four years are all about trying new things you might actually enjoy!
Whether it’s for partying or studying for that huge exam, you must master the art of staying up all night or until you knock out. Sorry freshmen, bed times don’t exist in college!
As a freshman you might be intimidated to go to the Career Center due to lack of experience, however, they are here to help you with that! The first time I went to the Career Center, it was life changing. They helped me build my resume, gave me interview tips, and most importantly, they helped me to choose a major. So take advantage of the Career Center, it will open new doors for you!
