5 Simple Breakfast Recipes For Any College Student

Its 9 am, and you have to leave for class in 20 minutes, but you need to eat breakfast before you go to class. What do you do? Instead of grabbing a granola bar or settling for a dissatisfying bowl of cereal, try out one of these 5 simple breakfast recipes that will boost start your morning and keep you full and focused for the day ahead!

1. Bagel Eggs (Beggels)

This delicious egg creation can be made in just a few minutes. Start by heating up the pan which you will be cooking on. While the pan is getting hot, grab your ingredients: an egg, one half of a bagel, and some seasoning. Start by cutting the hole in the bagel a little bit bigger, so it can fit most of the egg.

Once the pan is hot, go ahead and place the bagel in the pan. Next, crack the egg so that it fills the center of the bagel. Sprinkle with seasoning, and let it cook evenly on both sides. Once the egg is cooked through (wait longer if you like your eggs well-done), dig in!

2. Smoothie Bowl

Smoothie bowls are so yummy and a surprisingly healthy option for breakfast. To make a smoothie bowl you need a couple of things. First you need a really good blender or a food processor. You then need your choice of frozen fruit, liquid, granola and any other topping you may want for your smoothie bowl. The one pictured below is a berry banana smoothie bowl topped with banana slices and granola.

All you have to do is put some frozen fruit and a little bit of juice or milk into your blender. Blend it up until it is a thick, ice cream-like consistency. After it is fully blended, scoop it out into a bowl, top it with your favorite topping and enjoy. It really is that simple.

3. Blender Pancakes

These pancakes are really easy to make and taste way better than regular pancakes. To make these you will need a blender, pancake mix, fresh or frozen fruit and some maple syrup.

Start by heating your pan or griddle. Then pour pancake mix into the blender, adding the right amount of water for the mix. Next add berries, bananas or any other add-ins you would like. Blend it all together. Once it is completely mixed, pour the batter into your heated pan or pancake griddle. Cook for a few minutes on each side, top with syrup, and just like that, breakfast is served!

4. Avocado Toast

This is probably the easiest recipe to make, yet one of the most delicious. All you need is a toaster (or a frying pan works too), bread, an avocado and salt and pepper.

Simply toast the bread and top with a few slices of avocado. Your avocado should be ripe enough to easily spread with a knife. Finish it off with a dash of salt and pepper. For added protein why not throw an egg on top?!

5. Stove-top Frittata

This recipe takes a little bit longer than the others, but when you’re finished, you’ll have breakfast made for the rest of the week. You will need: olive oil, a small potato, 2 eggs, veggies, cheese and seasoning. Start by shredding the potato with a cheese grater (or use store bought hash browns to skip this step).

Put the shredded potatoes in the fry pan with a little seasoning and olive oil. Cover with a lid to allow the potatoes to soften. While the potatoes are cooking, begin scrambling the eggs, combing them with vegetable mix-ins of your choice. Once the potatoes are soft, pour the egg mixture into the pan. Cover and cook for about 3-5 minutes. Once fully cooked in the center, top with cheese and cut yourself a nice, big slice.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and it is critical that you nourish your body for the day so that you can function well and perform your best. So try these simple breakfast recipes out for yourself and enjoy!
