Then, in a separate mixing bowl, add your buttermilk and hot sauce together. Lightly dip your shrimp in the buttermilk mixture then coat in flour, shaking off the excess. Chill the battered shrimp in the fridge for 20 minutes. Pour your frying oil into a deep wide pan, about 2 inches worth, coating the bottom of the pan. Heat your oil to 350F. Working in small batches, fry your shrimp until a beautiful golden brown, about 3 to 4 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel lined plate and pat dry. Assemble your sandwich on your french bread, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and fried shrimp. Serve while hot.
