1. Homemade Ketchup

Do you want a way to save a quick buck and make the ultimate sauce? Homemade ketchup is a great way to liven up your meals. This recipe is fast, easy and lasts forever! If ketchup goes fast in your house, try out this recipe. 

Ingredients

  • 2 cans tomatoes, peeled
  • ½ cup water
  • ⅔ cup white sugar
  • ¾ cup white vinegar
  • 1 pinch onion powder
  • 1 small pinch garlic powder
  • 1 large pinch salt
  • 1 small pinch celery salt
  • 1 small pinch mustard powder
  • 1 small pinch black pepper
  • 1 whole clove

Directions

Begin by pouring your tomatoes into a slow cooker. Lightly swirl with your water and add in your sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, celery salt, mustard powder, pepper, cayenne, clove and white vinegar. Cook on high and leave uncovered. Cook for 10 to 12 hours until thick. Ladle the ketchup and press down to get that smooth texture. Transfer to a ketchup bowl and let cool. Serve and enjoy. 

This recipe is great when you’re looking for a great multi-use sauce.

2. Teriyaki Sauce

Have you ever wanted a make it yourself sauce that is sweet, delicious and goes on anything? Making homemade teriyaki sauce is a great way to liven up any tired dinner or snack. Bring the flavor back for your next dinner with this recipe.  

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 5 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 small pinch ground ginger
  • 1 small pinch garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • ¼ cup cold water

Directions

Combine your 1 cup of water, brown sugar, soy sauce, honey, ginger and garlic powder in a saucepan over medium high heat. Cook until heated through. This should only take about 1 minute. Add in your cornstarch and your cold water in a cup. Stir until it is fully dissolved before adding to your sauce. Cook until it has thickened for about 5 to 7 minutes. Serve and enjoy. 

Unlike other sauces, this recipe for all the spice lovers out there who are looking to liven up their dinner.

3. Spicy Ramen Sauce

This personal favorite of mine requires no cooking at all. This sauce is perfect for adding to your pasta recipes or pad thai. I love this sauce especially since it is the perfect blend of sweet, salt and heat that adds that special punch to any meal. 

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tsp chili paste
  • 1 pinch garlic powder

Directions

In a small bowl, add in all your ingredients. Stir and thoroughly combine before adding it to your pasta. Make sure your pasta is thoroughly cooked through and hot so that the sauce can fully absorb into the starches of the pasta. Serve and enjoy. 

This is a great way to liven up your lunch or veggie spread.

4. Homemade Mayo

While sauce is a little on the unorthodox side of the sauce world, do not be discouraged. Mayo is a great addition to any meal or quick snack. It is great for a dipping sauce with veggies, or a sandwich spread when you’re pressed on time for meal prep. Store bought mayo can be expensive. And let’s face it, full of processed fats that our bodies can’t break down easily. This recipe solves all those problems by being light, fluffy and a healthier alternative to add to your life.

Ingredients

  • 1 egg, brought to room temperature
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 small pinch salt
  • 1 cup flavored oil or grape seed oil
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Directions

A food processor is helpful for this one. Use a small bowl attachment or stir by hand. Begin by adding your egg into a small bowl and stir for 20 seconds. Add in your mustard, salt and vinegar. Stir again for an additional 20 seconds. Note, this may take longer to thoroughly combine everything if you’re doing this by hand. Be sure to scrape the sides and the bottom of the bowl. Next, slowly add in your oil. You’re going to want to add it in tiny drops so it doesn’t get gloopy! Your mixture will begin to thicken, you can add it into a thinner stream. When all of your oil has been added, scrape the sides and bottom once again. Taste test your mayo and season with your salt, lemon juice and vinegar. Serve and enjoy. 

This sauce is fast, easy and great for any taste.

5. Thai Peanut Sauce

If you’re looking for something that is a great dipping sauce or great for any occasion, this recipe is a must try for you. I personally love using this sauce for a great dipping sauce for my veggies.This sauce has the perfect amount of a sweet spicy kick that will keep you coming back for more. 

Ingredients

  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp chili garlic sauce
  • 1 dash lime juice
  • 3 garlic cloves, pressed and minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger
  • 2 – 4 tbsp warm water

Directions

Combine all your ingredients except for the water. Stir thoroughly to combine. Then, add your water, be sure to do this 1 tbsp at a time. You don’t want to add too much and get it watery. This is all about preference. The less water, the thicker the sauce! The average is typically 2 tbsp. Serve and enjoy.
