5 Music Accounts On Tik Tok You Should Be Listening To
I think it’s safe to say that some amazing music has emerged from the popular app, Tik Tok. Whether it’s been remaking a popular song popular again, showing us a new artist starting to break into the industry, or introducing us to a Tik Tok music artist that’s trying to break into the industry, the app has shown a lot of us some of our favorite music at the moment.
I’ve discovered a ton of new music through the app since it became super popular over the course of the pandemic. This means that I’ve discovered some amazing Tik Tok music artists who I believe are dominating the app, and in turn, will soon be dominating the music industry. Here are my top five Tik Tok music artists and accounts that you should be listening to. I think they are worthy of checking out if you are interested in discovering all kinds of new music.
1. Spencer Sutherland (@spencermusic)
Spencer Sutherland is an Ohio native who’s had some hits in the music industry, but it’s likely you’ve probably never heard of him. Before he started posting on Tik Tok, he had a small following of fans who have seen him perform and created a close-knit family that Spencer knows almost personally. These days, Spencer has become a popular Tik Tok music artist who uses his account to not only promote his music and his current EP, Indigo, but also does covers of songs that are popular both on the radio and on the app.
His most viewed and liked video is his cover of “Drops of Jupiter” by Train. It has over 700 thousand views and 148 thousand likes, making him a pretty known Tik Tok music artist. My favorite of his posts is his cover of “3AM” by Matchbox Twenty and I would also suggest checking out his new EP. “Wonder” is my favorite song off of it.
2. Restless Road (@restlessroad)
Restless Road is a country trio comprised of Zach Beeken, Garrett Nichols. and Colton Pack. This group made its’ first appearance on the US version of the X Factor in 2013. The band has gone through a shuffle of members, but this trio reemerged on my For You Page after eight years of not getting any new music from them. The reinvented Tik Tok music artists are regaining a following after appearing on Tik Tok feeds everywhere. On their account, they post the new music they are creating as well as covers of popular country and pop songs.
Sitting at 10 million views, their most viewed and liked video is of the band singing for a bartender as she serves them drinks. This just so happens to be the video that popped up on my For You Page, letting me know that the band was back together. It is definitely one of my new favorite Tik Tok music artist accounts, I would suggest watching their post where they cover “Somebody Like You” by Keith Urban and then check out their songs “One Step Ahead” and “Took One Look At Her Momma.”
3. Clinton Kane (@clintonkane)
I discovered Clinton when his song “Chicken Tendies” started popping up in videos all over my For You Page. I tend to listen to a lot of sad, love songs and that is exactly what this song is. From Perth, Australia, Clinton wrote the song about his strained relationship with his mother and how you have to just accept the relationships you can’t change. The song is his first solo single and now has 5.5 million U.S. streams. Followers of the Tik Tok music artist are now just patiently waiting for the album that Kane says he is currently working on.
Fittingly, his most viewed and liked video is the post where he explains what the song “Chicken Tendies” is about while it plays in the background. If you haven’t heard the song, I suggest that you check it out and let it become one of your new favorite songs, too.
4. Conor Smith (@conormichealsmith)
Conor Smith has created a bit of a following for himself because he was once a member of a semi-popular boyband. After the band split up at the beginning of 2020, Conor started creating rap music of his own. He really started to break out into the industry as a solo artist and a Tik Tok music artist when he released his first single, “With You in Mind.” The song was written in light of the Black Lives Matter movement and has gained 200 thousand views on Tik Tok. The song has gotten the attention of many people because it continues to shed light on the inequality and racism that is prominent in our world today.
You can watch the clip of the song on Conor’s Tik Tok page and then the full video on Youtube. Then expect more from Conor in the months to come, because he’s sure to move from Tik Tok music artist a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.
5. Ari Elkins (@arijelkins)
Ari’s music account is a little different than the other four accounts listed above. While the other four accounts are Tik Tok music artists, Ari doesn’t make his own music or post any covers. I decided to include him on this list because he is the music account that has provided me with the newest music since I started using Tik Tok. Ari shares his own Spotify playlists, new music that he is listening to, and some of the most obscure songs on his account. Some of the music that Ari shares on his page is even linked to some other rising Tik Tok music artists. It’s vital that he is listed as a Tik Tok music account that you should be listening to because he shares some of the greatest, new music that is out there at the moment.
His most viewed and liked videos are the two about “Songs That Make You Feel Like You’re the Main Character/Villain.” He lists the top eight songs for each of the categories then links to a full playlist where you can find those songs and many others. Find a video where he talks about a playlist that seems fitting for you and discover some new songs. Plus, the guy has some of the best dance moves, which he showcases in pretty much every one of his posts.
