Asparagus is a great source of fiber. It helps as a kidney cleanser for any tough bloating. Bloating can also occur when our bodies are holding onto unwanted salts or chemicals that have been picked up from processed foods we have ingested. Certain fats for instance, are much harder for our bodies to break down than others. Asparagus is great for helping our body scrub out some of those unwanted chemicals in our system. It can act as a rough scrubber within our intestines as we ingest it, allowing those unwanted chemicals we have been hanging onto to pass through our digestive systems with ease. I personally prefer to bake my asparagus with some minced garlic, lemon and tossed in olive oil. You can bake it at 375F for 40 minutes and viola! You have a healthy crispy digestive cleanser.
