1. Pork Tenderloin With Apples

This classic is perfect for when you’re craving that sweet meat of pork and that sweet fall spice. The sweet fat of the pork is cut through by the rich flavor of onion. And sweetened by the hearty warmth of crisp apples. This recipe is perfect for hands off cooking and when you’re craving that special sweet warmth this winter. 

Ingredients

  • 1 to 2 pounds of pork tenderloin
  • 1 large pinch salt
  • 1 large pinch pepper
  • 1 small pinch cinnamon
  • 1 small pinch garlic powder
  • 1 small pinch dried mustard
  • 1 small pinch dried cumin
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 4 apples, peeled and cut into sliced
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 white onions, cut into segments

Directions

Begin by taking a small bowl and adding your salt, cinnamon, garlic powder, dried mustard and cumin. Coat the surface of your pork tenderloins in your dry rub. Next, take a large skillet over medium high and add your butter. Once your butter is melted, lay your pork gently in the pan. Sear on both sides. This should take around 8 to 10 minutes. Remove your pork tenderloins and add your onions. Lightly suate for 2 minutes.  Then, layer the bottom of your crockpot with apple wedges, lightly sprinkling your brown sugar over them. Add in your onions and remaining salt. Layer your pork loin over the top. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. Serve and enjoy.

2. Garlic Butter Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds chicken, boneless and skinless thighs or breasts
  • 1 bag baby carrots
  • 1 ½ pounds Yukon gold potatoes, cut into wedges
  • ½ cup butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • 1 large pinch salt
  • 1 small pinch pepper
  • 1 small pinch parsley
  • 1 small pinch thyme

Directions

Place your chicken into the slow cooker, preferably in the middle. Layer your potatoes and carrots around the outside. Gently mix together with your butter, salt, pepper, parsley and thyme. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours. Serve and enjoy.

3. Cinnamon Sugar Butternut Squash

Butternut Squash is sweet and aromatic coupled with the natural sweetness of cinnamon, making for a warm sweet treat this winter. 

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds of butternut squash
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 pinch cinnamon
  • 1 small pinch nutmeg
  • 1 small pinch ground cloves
  • 1 pinch salt
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed

Directions

Begin by peeling your squash. Cut in half lengthwise, then cut into cubes. Place the squash cubes at the bottom of your crockpot. Cube your butter and place over our squash. In a small mixing bowl, add your sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and salt. Lightly sprinkle over your squash and butter. Cover and cook on high for 3 hours. Serve and enjoy.

4. Beef Stew

This recipe is the ultimate comfort food for any winter or rainy day. The beef melts in your mouth and the veggies are perfectly tender.   • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 pounds of stew meat, cubed
  • 1 large pinch salt
  • 1 large pinch pepper
  • 1 package of baby red potatoes, cut into quarters
  • 4 cloves of garlic, peeled and minced

  • 3 cups of beef broth
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 small pinch thyme
  • 1 pinch dried rosemary
  • 1 pinch paprika
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley

Directions

Begin by heating your olive in a large skillet over medium high heat. Season your beef with your salt and pepper before adding to the skillet. Let brown on both sides for 2 to 3 minutes. Place your beef at the bottom of your crockpot before adding your remaining veggies and spices over the top. Cover and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours. Stir in your beef broth for the last 30 minutes of cooking. Garnish with parsley. Serve and enjoy. 

This salmon is sweet and flakey and a great winter day meal.

5. Crockpot Salmon

Salmon can be difficult to prepare and some people would rather steer clear of it if they feel uncertain about how to cook it right. With this recipe, anybody can cook salmon. Simply add it to the crockpot. You will be left with beautiful flakey salmon that is unforgettable. 

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds of salmon, skin on filets
  • 3 lemons, quartered
  • Cooking spray
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • 1 pinch paprika
  • 1 small pinch chili powder
  • 1 pinch garlic powder
  • 1 pinch Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Directions

Begin by lining your crockpot with parchment paper. Arrange your sliced lemons in the middle of your crockpot. Gently place your salmon on top of the lemon slices and lightly spray with cooking spray.  Add in your seasoning, salt, pepper, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Rub seasoning over your salmon in an even layer. Pour your lemon juice and broth around the salmon. Be careful not to pour it directly on it. Cook on low for 2 hours and 8 minutes, covered. Remove from heat. Serve and enjoy.
