To kick off 2019, I’m sharing 10 2019 clothing trends everyone will be wearing. The closing of 2018 got me thinking about what we will be wearing in 2019. There are hundreds of trends that appear in a new year, but there are only a handful of trends that make a huge impact. I searched the web and the Vogue runways for these ten essential trends in 2019, and they go as followed!
From the runways, it seems like 2019 is the year to make statements. On the runways, there were plenty of statements, but one of the biggest was feathers. Feathers are going to be everywhere this year. Jackets, dresses, skirts, and blouses all have feathers. Gucci, Rochas, Tom Ford, and Valentino were the leaders.
This year we will be channeling our inner mermaids. One of the most interesting clothing trends in 2019 is this one. We are taking our fishnet obsession to the next level here. Netting and puka shells are the key players in this trend. Altuzzara, Dior, Louis Vuitton, and Pyers Moss killed this trend.
Eighties trends are not going away any time soon. We’ve seen party dresses, strong shoulders, and ruching in the past but acid wash is vital this year. Everything will be acid washed: dresses, jeans, jackets, and shorts. Isabel Marant, Off-White, Celine, and Balmain worked this trend on the runways.
Suits have been a key trend on past runways, but this year we’re adding a little color. Oranges, reds, yellows, purples, blues, and greens. It’s time to add a little color to your suiting this year. Balenciaga, Boss, Escada, and Gucci were key players with this trend. This is a clothing trend everyone will be wearing.
This is a no-frills trend. We have seen this trend creep up since early 2018, but now this is the trend everyone will be wearing in 2019. Belted jackets and trousers in earth tones are the stars of this trend. Coach, Fendi, Givenchy, and Loewe brought this trend to the runway.
Black and white Polka dots are a 2019 clothing trend that everyone will for sure be wearing. It’s a classic that we can’t get enough of. Burberry, Celine, Dolce & Gabbana, and Prada helped the polka dot trend stay relevant.
Fringe is here to stay, and you will see everyone wearing it this season. Adding fringe to any outfit makes it ten times better. Every movement you make creates a fluid motion. Gucci, Tom Ford, Oscar de la Renta, and R13 are brands that took this trend to the next level.
It’s time to jump on the bandwagon and start wearing this trend. In 2018 we saw bike shorts on every celebrity. Now, in 2019 you will see all your closest friends wearing them. Biker shorts were on the runways of Miu Miu, Chanel, Fendi, and Prada. These brands showed how diverse this trend could be.
Another key suit trend. This season we’re able to trade our trousers for shorts. A big boxy blazer paired with loose shorts is a 2019 clothing trend everyone will be wearing this year. Marc Jacobs, Tibi, Roberto Cavalli, and Zadeh all blazed the trail for this trend.
A key 2019 clothing trend is mixed prints. It’s easy to incorporate this trend into your daily routine this year. Polka dots and stripes, symmetrical and asymmetrical prints, mix any prints. Paco Rabanne, Sacai, Balmain, and Koche all perfectly mixed prints.
