20 Thoughts You Have During Midterm Week

Midterm week is way worse than finals. You’re pulling all-nighter study sessions, taking multiple tests, you still have to go to class and you still have tons of homework. Not to mention that spring break is right around the corner and you’re itching to get out of the library and enjoy the beginning of spring. Somehow ALL of your friends have their exams spread out throughout midterm week and/or have papers due instead of test, but you have ALL your exams ON ONE DAY!!!! What kind of karma is that?? Seriously, midterm week is by far the worst week of the semester and most people are in foul moods the entire time. That being said, here are 20 (mostly negative) thoughts you will definitely have at some point during midterm week:

I can study all of this the night before.

I should’ve started studying earlier.

I can get a 55 on this and still pass the class.

I’ll just have to do well on the final.

If I drop out now, I can still get a 10% refund on the semester.

If I start studying now, I can get to sleep by 4 am and then get 3.5 hours of sleep.

I wonder when Dunkin’ opens again so I can get another coffee.

Wait…the professor never covered this in class.

I wonder if there is any free food around campus.

I really should have dropped this class when I had the chance.

I guess I can allow myself one episode of Netflix.

I really should not have watched those 7 episodes.

I could probably still get a job if I fail this class.

I am more than my GPA.

I wonder if I could pay someone to take this for me.

I wonder how long I can go without sleep.

Who makes one test worth 40%?

At least I have my health.

I tried my best.

Alright, I can do this. I am going to ace this test!

In the end, it all works out. Even if you have to repeat the mantra “I am more than my GPA” all day, every day; you will survive midterm week. It’s a test of character. Trust me, I’m currently suffering through my own midterm week..but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. With the reassuring words of Ned Bigby (from Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide) pummeling though my brain: “I can survive this!”
