10 Ways You Can Show Your Dad You Care This Father’s Day

Father’s Day 2020… what to do? What would we do without our dads? They may cause headaches and stress but at the end of the day, they are our dads and they deserve to feel loved and appreciated, even if it kills us. Here are 10 things you can do to show your dad that you love him!

Write Him a Letter

A lot can be said in a letter, and you can tell him of all the wonderful things he has done for you that will make him feel appreciated and loved on Father’s Day. Remind him of the fun times you spent together, and the inside jokes the two of you share.

He spends so much time reading other emails and letters that it might be nice for him to take his mind off and read something nice for a change. Especially if it came from someone he loves so much.

Set Up His Favorite Activity at Home

Whether your dad is a golfer, a fisher, a gym-addict, whatever his hobby maybe you can set something up at home this Father’s Day and the two of you can do it together. Renovate your garage into a CrossFit studio using materials you find at home or turn the backyard into a mini-golf course. The possibilities are endless.

Dad’s love it when their kids take an interest in what they love, I am sure it will mean the world to him to join him, even if it is just for a day.

Give Him Peace and Quiet

If your dad is anything like mine, sometimes all he asks for his Peace and Quiet. This Father’s Day drown him in love by providing peace and quiet and allowing him to unwind on his favorite spot on the couch.

Dads work very hard to provide a roof over our heads and food on the table and it may mean more to him to just relax for a change.

Cook His Favorite Meal for Dinner

In my family, my dad is the bigger cook. For this Father’s Day try cooking his favorite dish and surprising him with a luxury dinner at home. If you’re not the best cook, order in!

It’ll be better to order in than burn the house down and give him a heart attack. I’ll let you decide which is better for you and your family.

Surprise Him for Lunch at Work

Although Father’s Day normally falls on a Sunday, if you can’t make the family plans try surprising him at work for a Father’s Day lunch. Take him to favorite burger joint during his office lunch break and, if you can, pick up the bill.

But, he’s a dad, so he’ll probably pay the bill just because he cares more for us than we could ever imagine. After lunch, feel free to escort the man back to work.

Learn a New Hobby Together

This could be lots of fun! Learning a new hobby with your old man on Father’s Day could be something that the two of you can enjoy for weeks, months, and even years to come (if you are consistent with it)! A new hobby can be anything like bowling, golfing, fishing, softball, working out, anything the two of you can do together will be time well spent!

There are plenty of activities around to choose from. The fun thing about a hobby is that it benefits you too. You can continue to do this even after the old man falls asleep or when you’re grown enough, you can do the same hobby with your kid! Years later of course.

Make Him Something

If you’re creative and have some sort of crafting ability, make him something that he can cherish forever. Again, if you’re a writer, write a letter. This Father’s Day deserves some creativity.

Photographers, take some portrait photos of him or of your parents.

See Also

Graphic Designers, make him a digital card.

Fashion Designer update his wardrobe or make a special outfit!

Painters paint him a masterpiece that your dad will want to hang up somewhere in the house.

The thing about being creative is that you can create something for just about anything. Make your dad something special.

Take Him to a Car Show

Most dads are car fanatics. His love for vintage cars and luxury vehicles are something that can always get him in a better mood. Find a car show nearby and allow him to get as excited as a kid getting a brand-new toy. A car show will be a nice way to hang out and enjoy a nice day together. Who knows, maybe this can spark a conversation of a new car! I’ll leave that one up to how good the day goes.

Send Him to Get a Massage

Nothing says “I Love You” more than a paid massage! As I mentioned earlier, dads work very hard to get us everything we need and want. A little thank you for all his hard work could be a relaxing spa day. Don’t worry, his masculinity won’t get hurt. Above anything else, a massage could relax those tense muscles and he could return home a new man with a bright smile on his face.

Alone Time Together

Above anything else that I mentioned in this article, spending alone time with your father on Father’s Day would mean the absolute world to him. All he wants is to be loved and acknowledged and you can do that by a simple “I love you, dad” and quality time. Let him know what new things are ahead for you and how much he means to you. Dads have feelings too.

Have a good one and Happy Father’s Day! If you have other ideas and want to share how your Father’s day went, leave a comment below! Happy Father’s Day!
