10 Ways To Make Sure Your Dad Has A Great Father’s Day Indoors

Dads are the best! They work hard to put food on the tables, they come home to spend time with us by throwing the ball around or joining us for the royal tea party with Mr. Cuddles. Without dads, a lot of boys wouldn’t know the right way to treat a woman or what a good man is supposed to be. A lot of girls wouldn’t know how a man is supposed to treat them. Dads play a major role in this world and this father’s day is the day where we celebrate. But because of the coronavirus, it may be hard to celebrate. But don’t worry! If the holiday needs to be spent indoors, here are ways to make sure your dad’s Father’s Day is unforgettable.

1. His Favorite Foods

This Father’s Day, give your dad the best day by cooking his favorite food or ordering takeout from his favorite restaurant. Nothing says “thank you for being the greatest father” than making his stomach happy. Or you can make it a family thing and have the entire family, including dad, in the kitchen cooking dinner. This surely will have nothing but laughter and smiles.

2. Cake

Nothing is a holiday without a cake! You can place an order for a cake to be made at your local store or you can make it yourself. Whether making it or buying it, make sure the cake includes his favorite colors and flavors. Also, have written on the cake “Happy Father’s Day” along with his name.

3. Gifts

Just because you can’t go out to celebrate doesn’t give you the excuse to not give your dad the perfect gift for his holiday. After all, he works hard to pay the bills and to feed you. Since Walmart is open, you can find him the perfect gift from clothes and jewelry to electronics. Or you can order it online.

If he loves everything about cars, give him car mats with his favorite sports team. If your dad likes to build stuff, a toolbox would be nice and handy. For the dad that’s the business type, getting a customized pen or picture frame for the desk.

4. Scavenger Hunt In The House

Take your dad on the craziest adventure he’s ever had in the house with an in-house scavenger hunt. Assign someone to hide the clues (that person will not be in the game) and form teams to make it a fun competition (parents vs. kids is best).

Make the clue cards appear as though a lot of thought has been placed into it because plain index cards don’t say “we went all out”. What would make the game even more intriguing is whoever gets to the Father’s Day gifts first can have the biggest piece of cake (hopefully dad does). And even if dad doesn’t get to the gifts first, he gets a piece of cake and gifts!

5. His Favorite Movie

Everyone in the family differs when it comes to a favorite movie genre. And since it’s Father’s Day, the dad should be the one to decide on the movie the entire family should watch. During or after dinner, have dad pick his favorite movie and the entire family sit in front of the television to watch the movie, even if you don’t like the genre he has chosen.

6. Water Balloon Fight

Nothing says fun like a backyard or front yard water balloon fight. Go to Walmart and buy some balloons, fill up the balloons using the water hose or sink and let the games begin. Water balloon fights are fun and bring a family close together. Father’s Day is to make your dad feel loved and appreciated, and since you probably can’t celebrate at a water park or at the pool (unless you have one) have a water balloon fight!

7. Backyard Campfire

Only do this if you are allowed to have campfires in your backyard, you wouldn’t want to burn the entire neighborhood down. But nothing is more intimate and family-like than a campfire in the backyard. But everyone knows a campfire is nothing without roasting hot dogs and making smores. Sit around the fire and have dad break out the guitar (if he does play it) and sing some of his favorite songs. Or have him tell stories about his childhood. The point is to put all of the focus on him for Father’s Day.

8. Video Games

This Father’s Day, have the dads unwind and chill with some video games. With a busy work schedule, it’s hard for dads to make time to play Mortal Kombat or Fortnite.

But this is his day, let dad go to paradise with the game controller in front of the screen. But make sure he is hydrated and eating throughout the day. It’s hard to remember to eat or drink when you are deeply focused on something.

9. Write A Song

If your dad is into music, surprise him with your songwriting capabilities and write him a Father’s Day song. Who wouldn’t want a song dedicated to them?

It’s your choice on whether you want it upbeat or slow, but if your goal is to make him cry, let the words come from the heart. But if you want the song to be funny, make it an upbeat song and have a part where dad can sing along.

10. Build A Fort

The best thing to do inside the house is to build a huge fort. This Father’s Day, have the family come together to make an amazing fort to hang out in. Although a lot of moms hate fort because it adds mess into the house, once the fort is done and everyone is inside, it’s the best feeling in the world.

Enjoy eating ice cream and a game of Go Fish or Uno with the family. Your dad will not forget this Father’s Day after building a fort. Maybe he’ll want to do it again!

Give your dad an unforgettable time with these Father’s Day activities in the house. Share with friends and family to show them that Father’s Day doesn’t have to be cancelled and comment on your plans for this holiday!
