As it’s scheduling season, I remember all of the mental struggles I actually go through during the process (because I try my hardest to have the perfect schedule). Here are the 10 steps to registering for classes at Ohio State.
Usually, students use their major’s sequence as a guide to scheduling classes at Ohio State. But some might be too confused; in this case, it would be time to turn to an advisor for help!
It’s time to look up that perfect schedule (the one with enough breaks to make your life a little bit better, no matter what hard classes you’re trying to pass).
You know it’s the one when the latest class you have to take is at 10 a.m., and it doesn’t conflict with your evenings of relaxation (or work/study time).
This is an important day, because many try to schedule as soon as this window opens and, of course, it doesn’t always work out.
So one of your class sections has been filled up from students who scheduled ahead of you. It’s time to find another section that, sadly, conflicts with another one of your classes; so you try to create a new schedule from scratch as soon as possible, before that class section gets filled up too.
You have to take 8 a.m. classes, so let’s focus on the positives; now you get out even earlier and you only have 8 a.m. classes twice a week.
When you realize some classes already have their professors listed, you will want to make sure to get a professor who isn’t going to give you too much of a hard time, right?
The good news is, they could just be new professors, or people just seriously forgot about adding them. Sadly, you won’t know if you are going to learn about the topics in the class, or if you’re going to learn how to just pass.
For the ones you do find, you get to do some changes depending on their ratings. And, at some point, some classes might open up and you might be able to work with your schedule once again (hoping to get rid of that 8 a.m.)!
