We all remember that heart stopping moment when we opened up our bid envelope to face a heart stopping moment, the moment of truth, our destiny. The second you read Kappa Kappa Gamma, was when you let the tears run down your face and you immediately hugged the person next to you. You remember running with your new sisters to the house, standing on your new lawn and throwing on a bid day jersey, while holding up a Kappa hand sign in every picture. We all remember this so clearly because it was the beginning of the rest of our life. Here on out, every move you make is because of that envelope you opened that one day. In your everyday life, you’ll catch yourself doing certain things that blatantly prove you’re a Kappa. There are many more, but keep reading for 10 signs that you went Kappa!
Whether you’re out with your sisters, or driving up the road with the windows down, you’ll find yourself screaming the words to the catchy song. You know it word for word and are already planning to play it at your wedding. I mean after all, “If you want to be on top like me all you gotta do is go KKG!”
“Blue on blue, you’ll look just right.” Whether it’s rocking the Britney and Justin denim on denim look, or throwing on a blue kappa shirt, with a lighter shade of blue shorts, you allow yourself to rock the blue on blue because you’re a Kappa and you can.
Scream Queens as Kappa Kappa Tau, the new Neighbors being Kappa Nu, every feature is dying for Kappa. Because of this, you have to watch it. Even if the name is altered, you still feel as if they’re Kappa Kappa Gamma and can’t help but feel extra special to have your sorority name on TV.
Nothing feels better than showing off your letters. After all, you want people to look at you and go, “Woah she’s a Kappa?” That’s why half your closet consists of Kappa shirts so you can walk across campus and wear your letters with pride.
In just about any picture you’ll find, you and your best friends will be throwing up a Kappa hand sign. Whether you’re going out, or standing on the beach, no matter where you are you’ll want to throw up a hand sign, and who better to do it with than your best friends?
Whether it’s the K and G, or the fleur-de-lis, or even the Kappa, you’re still confused which is the legit hang sign. Regardless, you throw whatever you’re most comfortable with and stick to it. After all, everyone else is doing it anyway. Who needs on hand sign when you have three?
We all know it’s so basic, but we’re so guilty of doing it. I mean it seems perfectly suiting on Bid Day, and Greek Week, and just about any Kappa day. Plus, it’s the perfect go to when you have absolutely no idea what else to say. You may as well tell the rest of the world that Kappa’s It.
Kate Spade is one of our most famous Kappas. Every Kappa knows it, and can proudly brag about it. But we’re all still waiting on the day we get a discount for being one of Kate Spade’s sisters in her stores.
They told us during rush that no matter what you’ll end up in the sorority you’re meant to be in. We rolled our eyes and didn’t believe them, but looking back you realize just how right they are. You think back to the sororities you preffed and realize that was no place for you and you weren’t meant at all for that sorority.
After all, one of our symbols is a key, so how could you argue otherwise? Kappa is the key to success and you know just how perfect the decision you made was when you put Kappa Kappa Gamma as you’re number. You have the best sisters in the world, and not a day goes by where you regret your decision. Kappa is the key.
