10 Reality Shows To Binge Right Now
Since the pandemic, we have been binging any show put out on Netflix or any other streaming platform. It’s getting hard, honestly, to find something that you haven’t seen at this rate. I’m in the same boat, I go through shows super fast. These reality shows will help you get through your need for a new show!
1. Love Island
I honestly did not want to like the show as much as I did. I’ve never been a huge fan of reality shows, but wow did this one not disappoint. Single men and women are flown to a remote villa in a tropical place and have to couple up with someone. Each week, new singles come in and drama ensues. It’s your typical raunchy dating show that you can’t look away from. Watch season one of the UK version and you’ll see the wild side of reality television where censoring was minimal. You’ll find yourself saying “mugged off” and screaming in a British accent “I’ve got a text!” nonstop.
2. Jersey Shore
If you didn’t already, watch the epitome of trashy reality shows. Once again, it’s so cringe-worthy but you find yourself laughing at how ridiculous it all is. Being from New Jersey myself, I have to attest that not all of us are over spray-tanned, mindless heathens, but don’t you wish we were? Get ready for chaos at all times and just pure mindless entertainment.
3. Summer House
What happens when a group of mid-20’s have a house for the summer in a nice area? Drama. Always. Following the fascination with groups of partiers during the summer, this reality show will not disappoint. You’ll find yourself loving the fashion the girls cook up, and the love connections that form within the house. It’s good East Coast fun, but a little more class than Jersey Shore.
4. Vanderpump Rules
Ah, Los Angeles. If you are a fan of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, you’ll know who Lisa Vanderpump is. Well she owns a few restaurants in the heart of Beverly Hills, and we get a glimpse into the soap opera-style lives that the workers live. It gives you your fill of wanting to live a glamorous life in LA, but also shows you how absurd their lives are. The drama between the men in the show is almost as juicy as that of the women, which is refreshing. Plus, you’re going to stan Tom & Tom as a bromance forever.
5. Temptation Island
Do you ever wonder what would happen if couples went to an island and singles came to try and ruin their relationship? No? Well, this show surely did. This show is chalk full of dramatics and tears, and you will truly feel like you are in the relationships alongside the couples. You’ll be completely blindsided by the betrayals that happen in this show- and it’s never who you think it’s going to be. A must watch, and there’s only three seasons so you can watch it fast without losing interest.
6. Love is Blind
Honestly, I found myself getting so angry at the people in this show. I was so invested in the people finding their perfect match without knowing what they looked like. Think The Voice, but a dating show. And oh, will you be hooked. There’s everything: a wedding ruined, a perfect match found and a love triangle, naturally. It’s one of those quarantine-era Netflix reality shows with only one season, but another is coming and I’m sure it’ll be equally as insane.
7. 90 Day Fiancee
This is my favorite reality show because of the complete insanity people deal with. The premise of the show is that a person in America is in love with someone abroad, and they have to get married to get a 90 day visa. It seems simple and boring, but have you seen the memes of Big Ed or the TikTok sound “you’re my best view?” This show has insane plots and each couple is a mess in their own way. There are tons of seasons, so you may literally be watching for months. It’s so good my roommates and I binge watched it for three weeks straight.
8. Are You The One?
Everyone on the island has taken a test and been paired up with their “Perfect Match.” The goal is to find out who that perfect match is by the end of the show, and you all win the prize money. What gets interesting is when there is a couple who knows they are not a match, but want to get together anyway. That’s when the real tea begins. If you watch the LGBTQ+ season, where anyone can be matched to anyone because they are all sexually fluid, it is extra interesting and you will truly be hooked.
9. Below Deck
If you’ve never been on a yacht much like myself, you’ll be extremely interested to see how the crew on yachts lives. Their lavish guests have high demands, and tensions run high when you all live in bunk beds under the ship. This show has so many seasons and spinoffs that you won’t run out of episodes any time soon. There are also tons of cute guys that work on the boats depending on which season you’re watching, so either way you won’t be bored.
10. Ex on the Beach
Your ex shows up when you’re about to meet someone new, what do you do? That’s the whole premise of this reality show. I really don’t know what I would even do in this situation, so it’s interesting to see how everyone reacts when their ex rolls up. There is guaranteed drama in every episode, and you’ll see a lot of people you know from other reality shows on here. If you think you’ve got relationship issues, watch this show to feel better.
