Hiking is a great way to get in exercise, explore natural surroundings, but also to see some of the amazing views.  When traveling, it’s easy to get stuck in the city you’re visiting, or even the resort or hotel you’re staying in. But taking the time to go outside the city and appreciate the natural beauty of the country or state you’re visiting is totally worth it, because you’re almost guaranteed to see some beautiful sights.

1. Plitvice Lakes National Park

This gorgeous park is located in Croatia. With beautiful waterfalls and iridescent colored trees surrounding the area, it’s the perfect place to walk around and relax. There are 16 lakes interconnected by waterfalls. Additionally, there’s various routes you can take each varying in mileage and difficulty. You’ll have to pay a fee to get in, but the cost is relatively cheap, around $5 to $25. The price is based on what time you travel and your age. Despite having to pay to get in, the cost is well worth it for the world-class views you’ll be getting!

2. Waipi’o Valley

Located on the Big Island of Hawaii resides Waipi’o Valley. Home to some of the most amazing views and waterfalls, this place is definitely worth checking out. It also has the highest waterfall in Hawaii, Hiilawe Falls which is about 1,300 feet. You can walk around the cliffs and go to the black sand beach, which differs from the typical yellow-colored sand beaches you might typically see.

This national park in Alaska has the largest ice field in the United States and offers some great trails for experienced hikers. This area in Scotland is perfect for anyone who wants to do a long-distance hike, and offers great views of the country.
