10 of the Best Podcasts to Listen Too

The entertainment industry certainly has come a long way. From inventions like the radio and television, now we are getting into more in-depth creations such as podcasts. Podcasts are a unique form of entertainment that allows you to listen to other people talk about your favorite topic while being able to take care of other duties like homework. Here are 10 of the best podcasts that have been making ratings rise.

1. Wine and Weed

You can tell by its name what this podcast pretty much involves. But to be honest, I can’t think of any other brilliant idea to host a podcast. This podcast is hosted by MTV personalities Sterling “Steelo” Brim and Chris Reinacher where these two guys pretty much chill out to drinking some nice wine, smoking some smooth weed while just being able to talk about what is going on in today’s society. Think about alcohol mixed with weed can make any type of small talk conversation turn into a big melting pot of juicy topics. Also, this podcast is interesting because, on each episode, these two hosts will always have a gust star celebrity appearance from SZA, Tiana Taylor even Michael B Jordan.

2. The Broken Skull Session

Even if you are not a fan of pro wrestling, you got to give your respect to this man “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. After making such a solid representation of what it means to be a dedicated hardcore wrestler, this Hall of Famer decided to sit down and have conversations on what it means for new up incoming wrestlers. This podcast is called the “Broken Skull Session”, where Steve Austin talks to new and former wrestlers on what being in the WWE means to them, and of course, it wouldn’t be a perfect podcast without a few cold ones as well!

3. Sip N Smoke

If you are that person who is looking to get a nice buzz but remain on more of a mature and older level, Steve Harvey’s “Sip N Smoke” podcast is just for you. Instead of getting lowkey lit on Wine and Weed, Steve Harvey centers his podcast on older grownups who focus on more concerning issues such as politics, race, and our economy talking to individuals who have made an impact in our society like Cam Newton and Will Smith. But since we are talking about sip n smoking, Steve Harvey has always had an eye for expensive taste. Instead of going for the cheap wine and easy weed, for him, it’s all about those Cuban Cigars and imported Cognac.

4. Red Table Talk

If there is one thing that ladies love, it is discussing topics that relate to understanding what it is like having to endure so many trials and tribulations regarding your race, gender, and sexual identity. Grammy award winner Jada Pinkett Smith along with her mother and daughter started their podcast “Red Table Talk” where these ladies invite other celebrities on the show to talk about some of the most proactive topics in this generation and why the media chooses to sensor them. When it comes to getting the word out, these 3 generations of women don’t fail.

5. Mojo for Musicians

For those who have a passion for music while love keeping in touch with your Spanish heritage, “Mojo for Musicians” is designed for you. Singer, music editorial photographer, and you tuber Manny Cabo who has made a name for himself on NBC’s “The Voice” and NBC  Telemundo’s “La Voz” will share advice, strategies and above all inspiration on his musical journeys along with other entertainment professionals that he has collaborated with along the way to help other up and coming artists in building their brands and succeeding in the music and entertainment industry.

6. What’s in Your glass

Other than being recognized as a pro baller, Carmelo Anthony recently released his podcast “What’s in Your Glass” where he sits down for a glass of wine with the biggest names in sports, music, business, media, and entertainment. Each week, listeners will feel like they’re getting to know Carmelo a little bit  and his iconic guests as they talk about their favorite drinks and the experiences that they bring, which serves as a great way for making a greater conversation around current events, cultural moments and more. And sense conversation always gets better, you should make sure to have more than just one glass.

If you’re looking for some laughs and some edgy stories, then “Call Her Daddy” might be the podcast for you. This podcast follows best friends Alexandra Cooper and Sofia Franklyn as they discuss everything about their NYC lives. Both in their 20s, these two talk about relationships, sex, embarrassing moments, and the NY social scene. Everything that most young millennials love hearing and debating about.
