We all know that feeling of going to the nail salon and not having a clue of what we want to get done. It is always such a tough decision! I have curated a list of ten potential nail designs you can get at your next appointment, to help you out a little bit. They are all on-trend and you can even try to recreate them at home!
If you love classic nails but want to have a pop of color, these are the perfect nails for you to get! This design is great for spring and summer but is still appropriate for work. Best of both worlds! You can either pick out one color for the tips or choose to do different colors for each nail. The choice is yours, both will look amazing! For me personally, I like to choose pastel colors for the tips.
The wavy nail trend is one of my favorites. You have probably seen it all over your Pinterest and Instagram feed lately. The abstract waves will make your nails look like a literal piece of art. This design is also fairly simple to recreate at home. Pick out some colors and find the right brush and then go to town! It is pretty hard to mess these up because the more abstract, the better!
If you have a hard time deciding how you want your nails done, this design is for you. Yin and yang, stripes, polka dots, checkerboard, flowers, and waves are just a few of the options. The possibilities are endless for this one! These are super funky and are definitely eye-catching. Do not forget to snap a photo of these Insta-worthy nails!
This is a little twist on the classic french tip. Instead of the regular white line across the tips of your nails, this design goes into a V shape. It kind of gives off the illusion of stiletto-shaped nails! If you need to keep your nails minimalistic and neutral for work, sports, school, etc., these are the ones to get. However, I think these would look AMAZING with black or colored polish too!
Sage green has been THE color of 2020 and 2021, at least to me. It is my new fave! The color has been super on trend recently. Not just with nails, but with clothes, purses, accessories, etc. You can do a lot with these nails. Either do the plain color, polka dots, flowers, glitter, you name it. A lot of brands have been coming out with their own versions of sage green, so it will be pretty easy to find a shade that you like! I love to do my sage green nails with a little bit of a glittery topcoat!
Ever since Kendall Jenner rocked the classic black and white cow print nails a few years back, the design has been super trendy! Plus with Y2K fashion coming back, a lot of people are being bolder with colors, thus creating the colorful cow print. This design is super cute and fun, and you can recreate it with any colors you like! The photo below shows it with different colors on each nail, but I think it would look equally amazing with the same color pattern on every nail.
Floral nails will never go out of style. They are sweet and trendy, and there are so many different possibilities you can do with them. You can try dotted flowers or more intricate designs. I like to do my flowers with bright colors! The best part about this design is that it is easy to recreate at home. You can use a dotting tool or a toothpick to create the dotted flowers, which I find is the easiest one to do. If you have steady hands, you can try to create those intricate flowers with a brush! Add glitter, rhinestones, or even gold if you are feeling extra.
I am OBSESSED with chrome nails. A lot of celebrities and influencers started getting them a few years back, and they are still super on-trend! They look absolutely amazing in the sun and I always get so many compliments when I have them done on myself. They will definitely make a statement! To achieve this look, you choose a base color for your nails, and then your nail tech will apply the chrome powder on top. It does not take long to get these done but it will look like you spent hours at the salon.
Why struggle to pick out one color when you can pick several? There are so many different color combinations you can try out, so let your creativity run wild! I like to pick one color and then find different shades of that color for each nail. It would also look super cool to do completely random colors too. This is probably the easiest design to recreate at home. All you would need is a few different colors of nail polish!
While I do love neutral nails and simplistic nail designs, I like to break out the neon nails once in a while. They are a classic for the spring and summertime! Neon can be a pretty intimidating choice to wear as clothes, so having neon nail polish will give you that nice pop of color, without having to go all out. A lot of companies sell a set of neon polishes, so you will not have to be limited to just one color! Sinful Colors, Sally Hansen, Essie, OPI, and Orly are all brands you should check out.
