Sometimes, crafts are just too much to handle for a non-artistic person. They can be overly difficult, far too time-consuming, frustrating; the list is endless. But, what if I told you there are tons of crafts out there that are both easy AND fun to make and don’t require any special skills? Well, you’re in luck because this list of easy crafts is surprisingly simple, so much so that even the most uncoordinated and non-artistic person could do them!
If you ever feel the need to spice up something of yours that’s white, try dip dyeing it! All you need is a large tub or bucket of water and spray paint. You simply spray the colors of your choice on top of the water, then dip your object in. The swirl of the spray paint colors will leave a marble effect on your object, making it look super cute! Plus, you’re not limited to the objects you can dip dye! You can dip white shoes, a plain mug, or really anything that paint would stick to! The results are stunning, and if you’re not happy with them, you can always dip them again!
Painting by hand takes skill and coordination, and if you’re anything like me, you don’t have any of those. So, grab some pretty tissue paper, a piece of watercolor paper and a spray bottle, and get to work! Cut out different sizes and colors of the tissue paper and scatter them around your paper. Then, grab your spray bottle and lightly spray the tissue paper, until the color has leaked onto your paper. Remove the wet tissue paper and voila! You have a beautiful piece of art that resembles a watercolor painting but without all the hassle.
You might be surprised by this next craft, but it’s actually pretty simple to make! These scrunchies don’t require sewing unless you want to sew them. Otherwise, you can just use hot glue! Wrap a strip of fabric (or even an old t-shirt) around an elastic, then hot glue the ends and sides together. This fun craft will keep you busy, as well as help you save money in the long run! Make some for yourself and your friends and family, and show off your awesome new crafty skills!
This is a classic and popular craft that will never go out of style and is super easy to do. Tie-dye kits are super cheap, and you can even dye something that’s already in your closet! Plus, every single tie-dye creation is different, so you’ll have a special and unique piece of clothing to show off. Use rubber bands to get a certain design, then let the clothes dry for several days. Rinse out and dry, and you have a fun, new piece of clothing!
This next craft will give you the coolest results with very minimal effort, and is really fun to do! You’ll need different colors of acrylic paint and a canvas of your choice, plus something to hold your canvas up off the table or ground. Fill a plastic cup full of different colors of the acrylic paint and, without mixing them, pour the mixture onto your canvas all at once. Lift up the corners of the canvas to move around the paint and create your own beautiful swirls and patterns. The great thing about this craft is you can’t really mess it up, it’ll look amazing every time!
This craft takes me back to my childhood and the simple days of making these origami lucky stars. These teeny tiny folds of paper are so simple to make, but so cute! All you need is a strip of paper about a half-inch thick and some practice to get these made. You essentially roll your strip of paper into a pentagon, then squeeze the sides together to puff them out. Once you get the hang of these, make a bunch of them to put in jars or cool bottles to show them off!
Making soap from scratch is definitely not for beginners, but that’s where melt and pour soap comes in! Forget about mixing hazardous chemicals together with oils and other potentially expensive ingredients; melt and pour soap doesn’t require any extra mixing! It’s all in the name; just melt down a block of plain soap that you can buy at any craft store and pour! This leaves you room to decorate to your heart’s content with glitter, coloring, scents, or anything you want. You could even buy special molds to turn your soap into fun shapes and sizes!
Recycle your old or broken lipsticks and turn them into a tinted lip balm! This fun craft only takes a few extra ingredients and a container, plus a tiny piece of lipstick that you no longer use. Simply melt everything together over the stove, add a preferred flavor, and pour into the container! Once the mixture is completely cool, you’re ready to go! The fun thing about this craft is you can make all sorts of different colors and flavors of lip balm, and even share with your friends and family!
Not everyone is handy with a paintbrush, but with this craft, you don’t have to be! All you need is your favorite colors of acrylic paint, a terracotta pot of choice, and some painter’s tape. Use the painter’s tape to form clean, solid lines all around your pot. This craft might seem boring to some, but it looks extremely elegant and pretty, and will easily fit in with any room aesthetic. If you’re feeling fancy, add some more little details and just be creative with it!
Remember those sand art bottles you used to make as a little kid? Well, they’ve grown up now and have evolved into sand art terrariums! This really cute and trendy craft is so easy that if children can do it, you can too. All you need is colored sand, a pretty jar or pot, and an air plant. Air plants are perfect for this craft because they don’t require any soil to grow, just some water every once in a while. Layer up the sand however you please, then add in your air plant! Instead of a plant, you could even add a small-sized candle to the center of your masterpiece!
