1. Cinnamon Rolls

Nothing is better than waking up on a Christmas morning to the warm fresh scent of Cinnamon rolls and a nice hot cup of hot chocolate. Turns out, this vibe recipe is not difficult at all to make.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 oz package yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 cup divided sugar
  • 1/2 cup scalded milk
  • 1/3 cup of melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup of walnuts
  • 1/2 cup plus 4 tablespoons divided, 1/2 cup melted
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 to 6 tablespoons hot water

Steps:

In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and set aside. In a large bowl mix milk, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/3 cup melted butter or shortening, salt, and the egg. Add two cups of flour and mix until smooth. Add yeast mixture. Mix in remaining flour until dough is easy to handle. Beat the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5 to 10 minutes. Place in a well-greased bowl and let rise until doubled, usually 1 to 1 1/2 hours. When doubled, punch down dough. Spread out on flour surface into a rectangle then spread melted butter all over the dough. Mix 3/4 cup sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over buttered dough. Sprinkle with walnuts, pecans, or raisins if desired. Beginning at 15-inch side roll up the dough and pinch edge together to seal. Cut into 12 to 15 slices. Spread the bottom of the baking pan with butter and sprinkle with light sugar. Place cinnamon roll slices close together in the pan and let rise until dough is doubled, about 45 minutes. Bake at 350 °Fahrenheit for about 25 to 30 minutes or until nicely browned. Meanwhile, mix 4 tablespoons of butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Add hot water 1 tablespoon at a time until the glaze reaches desired consistency. Spread over slightly cooled rolls.
