10 Crystals To Keep In Your Home

From healing your mind and body to dispelling negative energy, crystals have many different benefits. Every crystal variation can be used for different reasons depending on what you’d like to focus on. If you’re thinking about using crystals throughout your home but aren’t sure where to start, read on to check out our list of 10 crystals that will leave your space feeling sacred and safe. Before reading this article, I’d recommend checking out this crystal guide to figure out how crystals work and which crystals are right for you.

1. Selenite

When I first started my crystal collection journey, I noticed that selenite often came up as one of the most important crystals you can own. I set out to buy a number of crystals, and I realized that selenite was the only crystal wrapped in plastic. Why? Because selenite is thought to be one of the most powerful cleansing crystals you can get. The benefits of selenite include mental clarity, purification of your space, removal of negative energy, and above all else, protection! Selenite is a white crystal that will keep your home feeling safe. You can place selenite in the communal areas of your home, such as your living room and/or kitchen, in order to cleanse any negative energy that enters your space.

2. Amethyst

Amethyst crystals have a naturally calming lilac color that will help soothe any form of anxiety you may be experiencing. Amethyst is a popular stone used in jewelry due to its gorgeous color, but you can also buy the crystal on its own and place it in your home. The benefits of amethyst include calming the mind, enhancing spirituality, dissolving negative energy, and cleansing your space. Amethyst is said to work great in your bedroom, as it can soothe your nerves and allow you to have pleasant dreams. You can place your amethyst crystal on your nightstand or even under your pillow.

3. Black Tourmaline

With an intriguing dark color, black tourmaline is thought to help boost self-confidence and self-esteem. Black tourmaline is a crystal that symbolizes strength in overcoming challenges. This is a great stone to carry around with you, but you can also place it in your home to ensure that your space is fortified. Other benefits of black tourmaline include protection, releasing fear, cleansing negativity, and releasing stress. Black tourmaline is a great crystal to place towards your front door so that any negative energy that enters is automatically dissipated.

4. Rose Quartz

Known as the “stone of love,” rose quartz is a pink stone that gives off vibrations of happiness and empathy. Thought to emit unconditional love, rose quartz is naturally powerful in healing and protecting our homes and hearts. Rose quartz is thought to represent emotional warmth, heal relationship problems, lower stress, and bring about joy and happiness. Whether you’re living with your significant other or living alone, a great place for rose quartz crystals is in your bedroom or bathroom. These are some of the most vulnerable places in your home, so having rose quartz around these areas will allow you to feel at peace.

5. Citrine

Citrine is often known as the “merchant’s stone,” giving it a quality of vitality and abundance. Citrine emits a warm energy similar to the sun due to its yellow/orange color, making it a positive stone that will fill your space with love and light. Citrine is thought to promote success, mental clarity, creativity, and wealth and happiness. Due to its aspects of abundance, citrine would go great in your office space, by your computer when you’re getting work done, or wherever you feel most creative.

6. Moonstone

Moonstone crystals are known for their divine feminine energy. Mimicking the shine of the moon, moonstones are iridescent crystals that come in a variety of different colors. The moonstone crystal is thought to reflect your true self back to you, allowing you to love and empathize with yourself. Other benefits of moonstone include protection from external forces, enhancement of the mind, and the promotion of gentleness, healing, and hope. Moonstone is a great crystal to wear on your body as jewelry, but you can also place it in your home by your bed to feel a sense of calm vulnerability. Place the stone on your heart when you’re feeling particularly lost.

7. Smoky Quartz

Smoky quartz is a type of quartz crystal that comes in many different colors, but you can generally find the stone in a light or dark brown variation. Smoky quartz is thought to be a grounding crystal that connects us to the earth as well as ourselves. Smoky quartz is also thought to help you let go of the past and heal from painful memories you’re still holding onto. The crystal can attract abundance and luck, ground and stabilize, regain balance, and help you to overcome negative emotions such as depression. Keep smoky quartz in common areas such as your living room or bathroom to dissipate any negative energy.

Lapis lazuli is a gorgeous crystal that comes in a deep, royal blue color. Lapis lazuli is a stone that promotes intellect, honesty, wisdom, and truth. It can be used alongside creative endeavors or held in situations where you need some clarity. Alongside its intellectual properties, lapis lazuli can help bring repressed negative emotions to the forefront of your mind in order to help you address issues of the past. Place lapis lazuli in your office space or meditation area to reap its benefits.

9. Carnelian

Often known as the “singer’s stone” and “artist’s stone,” carnelian is a crystal that is thought to bring about confidence and courage. Carnelian is an orange, sometimes reddish stone whose deep pigments bring about positive vibes of abundance and joy. Due to its brightness, carnelian is said to help dispel negative emotions, maintain peace, and boost self-confidence. Carnelian is a great stone to carry around when you’re feeling anxious, but you can also place this stone by your front door in order to attract good vibes the second anyone walks into your home.

10. Obsidian

Obsidian is a form of volcanic glass that is thought to create an intense barrier of protection from negative external forces. Obsidian absorbs anything harmful that may come your way when you have it on your person or in your home. This is, undoubtedly, one of the most important stones to keep in your space. Alongside this, obsidian also dissolves emotional blockages, allowing you to dispel any negative experiences you have had in the past that are still living in your body. You can place obsidian anywhere in your home, but it may be smart to place it near doorways so that it can keep your space positive regardless of the energy moving in and out.
