10 Chocolate Treats You Can Make In The Microwave

Satisfy your chocolaty cravings with these decadent chocolate treats. Don’t worry, you don’t need to be a wiz in the kitchen to make these culinary crafts. All of these treats can easily be made in the microwave, making them perfect for college students. Here are 10 chocolate treats you can make in the microwave.

1. Double Chocolate Mug Brownie

You can’t beat a brownie in a mug. It’s one of the easiest and delicious microwave treats. This chocolate treat cooks in just 2 minutes, making it a great snack to quickly satisfy your chocolaty cravings.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup of all purpose flour 

1/4 cup of brown sugar 

2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder 

A pinch of salt 

2 tablespoons of canola oil 

2 tablespoons of milk or water 

2 tablespoons of chocolate chips

In a small bowl, mix the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until it’s evenly combined. Next, you’re going to mix the oil, milk, and chocolate chips until it is thick and stiff. Pour it into a microwave-safe mug and place it in the microwave. For a gooey brownie, cook for 1 1/2 minutes. For a well-done brownie, for 2 1/2 minutes.

2. Snickers Mug Cake

This is a chocolate treat that satisfies. Snickers are my absolute favorite candy. I love the candy bar, the coffee creamer, the ice cream, so you know I had to add Snickers mug cake to the list. This recipe is quick, easy, and delicious.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup of all purpose flour 

2 tablespoons of sugar 

1/4 teaspoon of baking powder 

1 tablespoon of milk 

2 tablespoons of Snickers creamer 

3 tablespoons of butter (melted)

1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract 

2 tablespoons of Snickers chunks 

Additional Snickers chunks (topping)

Chocolate syrup

In a small bowl, whisk together the milk, butter, sugar, creamer, and vanilla extract. Mix in the flour and baking soda until it is smooth, then fold in the Snickers chunks. Pour the batter into a microwave-safe mug, and microwave on high for 1 to 2 minutes. Let it cool for 2 minutes, then top with chocolate syrup and Snickers chunks.

3. Oreo Mug Cake

You may have seen this chocolate treat on Tik Tok. While Oreo mug cakes aren’t new, the social media platform has made them increasingly popular. Here’s how to make the famous Oreo Mug Cake.

Ingredients:

5 Oreo Cookies 

Cream of 3 Oreo Cookies 

1/4 cup of milk 

1 tablespoon of flour 

1 tablespoon of sugar 

1 tablespoon of cocoa powder 

1/2 teaspoon of baking powder 

1/4 teaspoon of sea salt

Mash up 4 Oreos in a mug and mix with milk. Mix in flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and sea salt until it’s evenly combined. Place 1 Oreo in the mug and push it underneath the batter. Don’t push it all the way to the bottom, let it sit in the middle. Cover the top of the batter with the Oreo cream, and microwave it on high for 1 minute. Let it cool for 1 minute and enjoy.

4. Oreo Mug Cheesecake

Oreo mug cakes are great, but Oreo mug cheesecakes are even better. While this chocolate treat only takes a few minutes to prepare, it has a 2-hour cool time. I recommend making these early in the day, that way can have a nice treat to come home to after class or work.

Ingredients:

4oz of cream cheese 

1 cup of sour cream or Greek yogurt 

1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract 

4 tablespoons of sugar 

2 egg whites (beaten)

1 tablespoon of flour 

1/3 cup of crushed Oreos

In a small bowl, whisk together the cream cheese, sour cream (or yogurt), vanilla extract, sugar, egg whites, and flour. Sprinkle a layer of the crushed Oreos at the bottom of a microwave-safe mug. Add 1/2 cup of cheesecake mix to the mug. Microwave in three 15-second intervals, and check it each time. Stop it when you see a bubble in the center. Continue until the edges of the cheesecake are firm and the center is jiggly. Let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for 2 hours. Carefully pour out any remaining liquid and enjoy.

5. Nutella Mug Cheesecake

It’s another cheesecake recipe! Instead of cookies and cream, here’s a delicious Nutella Cheesecake recipe. You’re definitely going to want to make this chocolate treat at night, because it a 12-hour freeze time. Lucky for you, it only takes a few minutes to prepare.

Ingredients:

5 crushed cookies (removed cream)

1 tablespoon of unsalted butter 

5 tablespoons of cream cheese 

2 tablespoons of granulated sugar 

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract 

2 tablespoons of sour cream or Greek yogurt 

2 tablespoons of Nutella

In a mug, mix the crushed Oreo cookies with the melted butter to make the cheesecake crust. In a separate bowl, mix together the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, sour cream, and Nutella until it’s evenly combined. Pour it on top of the Oreo crust, then microwave it in four 30-second intervals. Let it cool down for a few seconds each time. Freeze it for 12 hours, then enjoy.

6. Chocolate Almond Truffles

This chocolate treat recipe will make you feel like a true chocolatier. These chocolate almond truffles are delicious and super easy to make. Truffles are great to make for yourself, friends, or as a Valentine’s Day gift.

Ingredients:

1 cup of heavy cream 

6 tablespoons of butter (sliced)

12oz package of semisweet chocolate chips 

2 cups of confectioners’ sugar 

1 teaspoon of almond extract 

1 1/2 cups of chopped sliced blanched almonds

In a microwave-safe bowl, mix the heavy cream and butter together, then microwave it for 2 minutes. Add the chocolate chips and heat for 15 seconds, then stir and heat again for 15 seconds. Add in the confectioners’ sugar and almond extract, then cover and refrigerate for 2 hours. Once firm, make 24 one-inch balls out of the mix. Place the crushed almonds in a shallow dish, then roll the chocolate balls across, covering it completely. Refrigerate it for 1 hour, then enjoy.

7. Reese’s Fudge

20-30 mini peanut butter cups

The three core ingredients to the perfect Campfire Cone are a waffle cone, chocolate chips, and marshmallows. As long as you have those core ingredients, you can add anything else to create delicious and unique flavors.

Ingredients:

Waffle cones 

Chocolate chips 

Mini marshmallows 

Any other ingredient you want (ex. strawberries, bananas, M&M’s, etc.)

When putting the ingredients in the waffle cone, start with the marshmallows. The marshmallows are going to be the glue that holds the cone together. Fill the cone in layers, alternating between the marshmallows and the other ingredients. Once the cone is filled, place it in a microwave-safe mug to keep it upright, then microwave it on high in 45-second intervals until ingredients are melted. Let it cool for 1 to 2 minutes, then enjoy.

This chocolate treat is a delicious combination of peanuts and chocolate. You can customize this yummy recipe by adding dried fruit or different nuts to the mix, like a cranberry and walnut chocolate cluster. Here’s how to make the Chocolaty Peanut Clusters.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 lb package of white almond bark (chopped)

2 3/4 cups of semisweet chocolate chips 

4 cups of salted peanuts

In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the almond bark and chocolate chips for 45 seconds, then stir until evenly mixed. If it’s still not smooth, microwave it for 30-second increments checking it each time. Mix in the peanuts and stir until they are completely covered. Use a cookie scoop to put the mixture onto wax paper. Refrigerate until it’s set, then enjoy.

10. Chocolate Oatmeal Bars

If you like oatmeal cookies, you’re going to love this chocolate treat. Chocolate Oatmeal Bars are delicious and filling. This recipe is easy to make and is a great snack.

Ingredients:

2 cups of quick-cooking oats 

1/2 cup of brown sugar 

1/2 cup of butter (melted)

1/4 cup of corn syrup 

1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips

In a large bowl, mix the oats and brown sugar, then add in the butter and corn syrup. Stir until it’s evenly combined, then press it into a greased 9-inch square microwave-safe dish. Microwave it on high in 2 90-second intervals, checking it each time. Sprinkle on the chocolate chips, then microwave it at 30 percent power for 4 1/2 minutes. Spread the chocolate evenly over the top, then refrigerate for 20 minutes before cutting it. Enjoy!
