Whether you’re visiting Boston on vacation or live nearby, start supporting smaller, local businesses when doing your shopping! Here are 10 Boutiques In Boston You Need To Check Out now!
As a Boston native my whole life, I can say I know a few tips about shopping in Boston. If you are new to the area, I recommend starting your shopping on Newbury Street, located in the Back Bay area of Boston. Newbury Street has always been my favorite destination for some retail therapy, the most delicious restaurants, and stunning architecture. Many of our boutiques in Boston are located on Newbury Street, but there are several other destinations to check out such as Cambridge or Beacon Hill. No matter where you choose to spend your time in Boston, you’ll be sure to get some great shopping in, especially from these boutiques where you will discover the most unique finds!
Okay, so I may be a little bias putting Bobbles & Lace as #1 on the list of boutiques in Boston considering they have numerous other locations right by my hometown. However, the Boston location is one of my favorites for chic and modern fashion pieces and accessories. Last time I visited B&L, I was even greeted with a glass of bubbly Rosé and some seriously amazing deals. Bobbles & Lace has some of my all time favorite one of a kind jewelry pieces, so be sure to visit their Newbury Street location next time you spend a day in the city!
Another boutique to check out on Newbury Street is No Rest For Bridget. This boutique offers casual women’s fashion and fun styles of shoes, jewelry & accessories. They get in new arrivals every day, so you’ll always be sure to find pieces that are super trendy at the moment. The store also has many other locations in Orange County, Los Angeles if you find yourself ever on the West Coast!

If you’re looking to splurge on a unique piece, Alice + Olivia is the perfect destination that carries fashion with ornamented fabrics, colorful prints and ultra-flattering fits, pulling inspiration from the love of vintage and femininity. The brand also is known to have many celebrity fans such as Gigi Hadid, Meghan Markle, Michelle Obama, Beyonce, and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Crush Boutique is located in Beacon Hill, which is one of Boston’s most beautifully picturesque areas you can’t miss on your next visit. One thing I love most about Crush Boutique is the story they tell through their boutique’s history and what they stand for. The store was founded by childhood best friends who made the brand’s mission to empower women to love the skin they are in no matter their shape, size or height. The women’s clothing boutique features contemporary designer pieces, and accessories and handbags.
Covet is a little different than the other boutiques in Boston, as it is an upscale consignment store offering some of the most trendy, gently used designer pieces at a much more affordable price! Covet is a beautiful, clean, and welcoming space in Beacon Hill, filled with cool, on-trend merchandise. Have clothes in your closet you just don’t wear enough? Well, you can also bring some of your own items to make some extra cash if you’d like to consign!
You won’t want to miss this adorable shop known as Lipstick on your next visit to Boston! Lipstick carries stunning dresses, funky jewelry, and many other fashion pieces you need in your wardrobe. Lipstick is located on the heart of Newbury Street, so definitely plan a day starting off with a delicious brunch, then shopping from some of the top boutiques in Boston!
Wyllo is a fashion boutique that offers curated goods from over 50 designers, artists, and makers who are all women owned companies! Not only does Wyllo have some great fashion finds, but also has adorable paper and home goods products, self care sets, and tons of accessories that make the perfect addition to any outfit. Many of the companies found art Wyllo are tiny one or two person operations, so every purchase made generates meaningful income and is very appreciated when supporting small, local shops!
Aside from just women’s fashion, if you find yourself near Harvard Square in Cambridge, make sure you stop by Forty Winks for all things lingerie related! The shop offers a hand picked selection of bras, underwear and sleepwear in a wide range of sizes and styles. Forty Winks values comfort, while still felling like your most confident, sexy self. They have tons of different brands to choose from, so finding the perfect fitting bra will be easier than ever at this boutique. They offer walk-up instore fittings during regular store hours, but you can also schedule a bra fitting as well!
Last but not least is Beacon Hill’s Holiday Boutique, where you can find a collection of hand picked and hand made clothing and accessories. The shop has their own private label of contemporary pieces, an in-house reworked vintage selection, hand-made-to-measure dresses and skirts. Out of all their amazing products, I highly recommend checking out their one of a kind vintage handbags with some added customization that you really can’t find anywhere else.
