1. Glacier National Park

For millions of  years, the Grand Canyon has expanded with the help of the mighty Colorado River, and for centuries, people from all over the globe have traveled to gaze out over its red and orange grandeur. Since this canyon is so popular it can be very crowded, but luckily there are certain spots where you can avoid all the crowds and find your seclusion to enjoy  for backwoods camping and adrenaline-seeking hiking.

Yellow Stone in my opinion is that park that puts on a spectacular show with its captivating nature features.

4. Arches National Park

While some national hiking parks are known for their average large-sized landscape, traveling to Arches National Park is like going to a whole other world. What makes this park so unique are its natural sandstone arches, red rocks and landforms in amazing configurations, and light that seems to change every moment. When the shadows move across the arches, it makes the park look magnificent with its enchanting vistas at dawn and dusk in particular. Also when nighttime hits, this park makes the perfect spot for interstellar star gazing.

5. Mount Vernon

For those who are hikers but also have a vast knowledge of American history, Mount Vernon would be your destination. The Mount Vernon trail offers an 18 mile paved multi-use trail that stretches from George Washington’s Mount Vernon house to Theodore Roosevelt’s private island. This historical landmark offers many different locations to explore the American battleground while being able to get that perfect hiking experience.
